After the advent of DNA testing, many anthropologists and archeologists were embarrassed because skeletal remains were missexed.
Even my A&P textbook had this garbage in it. It claimed racial difference in the skull and sex difference in the Hip bones. But it’s bullshit. The most reliable way to sex a skeleton is with DNA.
‘The Mismeasure of Man’ by Gould is a fascinating history of bio-determinism and psudoscientific attempt to measure it.

Archaeologist here, maybe it’s just new wave training but widely taught that it’s not an easy task to sex skeletons on morphology alone.
Sure some features appear more commonly amongst men and some more commonly amongst women, but there is considerable overlap.
Pelvis are generally identifiable, but the bio-archaeologists I know prefer to say the skeleton displays female characteristics without providing a definitive biological sex. They have to have some great evidence before claiming for certain.
Also fun fact, you can’t measure this morphology when there’s still skin and muscle fucking attached.

The show Bones had a lot of weirdness, but I did appreciate that they consistently (at least the first few seasons when I was watching) stripped the bones down and even had a bug guy to do it efficiently.

The most reliable way to sex a skeleton is to be interested in what they’re interested in, and not say stuff like “ay, babey, you’d looked better with more meat on those bones!” Otherwise, just ride the vibe and see where the mood takes you.

Catholics and Protestants are both Christians, Catholicism is pretty unified in doctrine, and Protestants are a large group of very diverse denominations of Christianity. When I was forced to go to church, my pastor would often joke about Baptists forming new denominations over differing opinions on drape colors. Outside of those two groups, there are tons of other flavors of Christianity. Off the top of my head you’ve got Mormons, Greek Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, jehovas witnesses, and Oriental Orthodox

Just as “extremists” from other religion claiming they belong to it. We’re just less accustomed to seeing people claiming being chrisitans doing it. They obviously aren’t but as time will go on more and more christians will get criticized for being christians because “look what your fellow christians do!” Rings any bell? “But if Christians behave that way it’s because it’s rooted in their religion!”. And maybe it is… Who knows, but what these people do seem very non-christian.

People are tired because there’s literally no winning with tactics like that. The idiotic tactics on display in the OP aren’t about realistically “winning” the culture war. It’s just sowing so many nonsense weeds that any reasonable discussion is choked off of the vine. When you allow inanity like “male/female skull assignment” as a platform instead of “simply being correct”, the whole game goes down the toilet. It’s now just “who can shout the loudest and the longest and into the most ears directly”. That’s not a race with a finish line, it’s the cultural equivalent to a “last person shitting” contest and these motherfuckers are full of shit.
If you have a mind to think, you can only turn it off so long. And when the reasonable person does switch theirs back on, they’ll eventually have to contend with the mess.

These are all the exact same views that Francis held, almost to the word. The truth is that the Overton Window of the Roman Catholic Church is incredibly narrow. When we talk about a Cardinal being “liberal” or “conservative” that is within this context. In terms of the secular world, the Roman Catholic Church is extremely conservative, even among the most “liberal” cardinals and Popes. Even then there’s so much overlap in human dimorphism that it’s not an exact science, there’s still like a 5-10% error rate in sexing perfectly preserved pelvic bones. Accurate enough for anthropology, but that’s a big error rate to apply to individuals.
