I discovered Inuyasha only because I find it hard to sleep when its hot and it would play on Adult Swim at like 2am.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 days ago:
I fired up Stellaris and I’m kinda annoyed at how much has changed since I last played. Like you don’t even have the FTL options any more. I specifically wanted to use the gates this time and was confused as to when and where you’re asked to choose that stuff; looked it up and found it’s not a thing anymore. Along with a few other fun things I loved about the game at launch.

Ryzen 5, 3600 and 1660 Super team, ASSEMBLE… A NEW MACHINE!
Most of them are just UE5 games and I can tweak the engine.ini file to kill some of the new features that make it run like ass like Lumen. The ones using their own shit, tho… ugh. 😩

I can not remember the story, but it was from the 1920s or 1930s and I was astonished at just how close to reality it predicted a lot of stuff. Like cell phones and personal computers, as well as getting very close to how they have affected society.
Keep wanting to say it was by Ray Bradbury, but it was at least 10 years prior to his first published work. Might have been Lovecraft, actually… That’s the only author I definitely remember reading a lot of from around that time period. 🤔

Yu Yu Hakusho, maybe? I got into it originally because I confused it for Bleach, which was super popular at the time. Loved it more than Bleach. Though I do see it brought up a lot more now a days than back when it originally aired, which I chalk up to being overshadowed a bit by Bleach. They’re very similar.

Some say that explaining the joke, ruins the joke. I disagree; if I didn’t get the joke’s reference at first, explaining it helps see the humor. It only ruins the joke when the explanation still doesn’t make it funny; like racial jokes that punch down.

- Comment on Why don't people with resin printers use acetone/nail polish remover more often for cleaning their prints? 3 weeks ago:
It’s really easy to fuck up and have it melt more than you intended. And with resin prints, specifically, there’s not really much needing to be cleaned up like with FDM printing. I prefer to just sand them if there happens to be any burs or whatever.

- Comment on Classic dubs seemed so much better. Now most dubs seem unwatchable 4 weeks ago:
I am not just comparing the length of the words. I am talking about how subtitles tend to be very basic and just get the gist of the point across.
- Comment on Classic dubs seemed so much better. Now most dubs seem unwatchable 4 weeks ago:
Two things with subtitles I do not like:
-
I watch anime primarily for the animation and having to read tbe text on the bottom or top of the screen takes my eyes away from the action.
-
They usually condense the thought into a shorter sentence and you lose a lot of flavor in the dialogue.
The most egregious thing I have seen regarding item 2 was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It’s so bland and boring with the subtitles vs the english dubbing. And it annoys me that every streaming service that has the film, has the subbed version.
And another thing regarding the argument itself is that how would you know the Japanese acting is good unless you understand Japanese? Ironically, the Japanese ends up more hammy than the English, because that’s what Japanese theatre is all about: wild exaggeration.

Yes; I am aware. I am saying he can count past 3 when it comes to superyachts, so when are we getting 2 more sequels to The Ship?
