Currently on Earth for 8 years ensuring steps to unite humanity and usher us into the galactic civilization just so I can see my boyfriend again.

- Comment on Income Tax Is Theft 1 hour ago:
In the current system, yeah. It’s just extortion of the poor.
Inherently, though, taxes are good. They just need to actually be collected fairly and proportionally, which, again, the current system does not do because it is corrupt.
- Comment on Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 Underperformed, and There Won't Be a Third - IGN 1 hour ago:
I remember getting it because the hype around it being better at RPG storytelling than Fallout 4 which was still new was the number one thing I heard about it.
While it is better written, I’ll give it that, it very much suffers from the same lack of interesting choices that Fallout 4 has. You have rebel, capitalist, and maybe sometimes a neutral 3rd option. Having two of those three choices just make one side happy and the other mad at you isn’t exactly the kind of depth I was hoping for.

I have a U2 iPod… Whatever generation those were that I found lying in the gutter years ago, cleaned up and still works (screen’s scratched to shit but it’s still readable). I use it to store pictures.

Yes. A threat. Simply saying “I wanna kill the president” doesn’t automatically constitute a threat.
- Comment on [deleted] 9 hours ago:
It is not illegal to say “i want to kill the president,” but is is illegal to pay someone to actually do it.

- Comment on With all this talk about Ai not being profitable why aren't we using it in video games? I dont mean replacing developers I mean in NPCs in the game. I make them more realistic. 10 hours ago:
Just because I made a complaint about one of the uses of gen AI in the game doesn’t mean I didn’t notice or don’t have complaints about the other uses of it in the game. The whole game is a schlocky mess, and if it wasn’t free, I’d complain about it a whole helluva lot more.

The Finals at least is a fun as fuck game. The everything goes style also kinda makes sense considering the game is taking place in some kind of VR and both mocking of this kind of live service while being a live service game itself.

Per item 2: Have you heard of Dwarf Fortress? That’s the kind of game that actually might benefit from an LLM generating dialogue on the fly over anything pre-written. The game is already a mad-lib of tons of randomized little parts. You kinda have to use your imagination to truly understand the dialogue when talking to another character in Adventure mode or the log in Fortress mode because it’s NOT written in advance, but still conveys everything you need to understand what is going on.
It would be nice if that already randomly generated dialogue based on actual in-game information that is also randomly generated that had a bit more flavor to it and came along more naturally.

And it’s not good for the one thing I actually want to see. When you talk to an NPC, you literally talk to them and they respond through generative output. They’re not always accurate about the info they give you, and if you try hard enough you can get them to entirely break the 4th wall.
