I don’t get why people are NOW saying he’s trying to appease trump. He’s been doing it for years. He was front row at his inauguration right next to other billionaires.
- Comment on This boomer couple would be hit with $700,000 tax bill if they sold their mansion 1 day ago:
Keep in mind, it’s profit. If you bought the house for $500k and selling for $800k, that’s only $300k in profit. Plus you can include the cost on renovations and there are lower percentages when you own and live in the house for over 2 years.

You’re a good example of the average dumbass American.
- Comment on Where are all the successful "red cities"? 1 week ago:
Not really a theory, when it’s been proven true. Many retirees are moving to low CoL areas because their social security and or retirement funds can’t keep up. Lower income people will move if they are able to.
There are jobs that pop up in these areas, but on average the income is significantly less. For example Tennessee will pay new grad nurses $22 an hour. That’s one of the lowest wages for a bedside nurse. Not enough to live in the city where a hospital is located. I think it was Alabama that passed a state law that prohibited cities from raising the minimum wage for jobs in the city. Jobs in most of these areas pay poverty wages.
I used to live in Florida and when looking at the average the CoL is lower than my new state Oregon. Yet after moving and living here for a year I pay less on car and home insurance, property taxes, and no sales tax. Sure I might pay a tiny bit more in income tax but my salary is 30% higher for the same job. My wife’s is 45% higher for the same job.
Not to mention “average” means nothing when rural hick areas are lowering the entire state. Many parts of Florida have a higher cost than most other cities.

- Comment on Delta moves toward eliminating set prices in favor of AI that determines how much you personally will pay for a ticket 3 weeks ago:
Experiences differ. I’ll say I’ve had more bad experiences with Delta than United. American is still the worst of the three big ones domestically. I fly United for work and will have a delay maybe once every 10 flights and I’m constantly flying and always have at least one connection.
I’ve personally had a better experience with United, than any of the others. Doesn’t mean they still don’t have issues.
- Comment on Delta moves toward eliminating set prices in favor of AI that determines how much you personally will pay for a ticket 3 weeks ago:
I travel for work and have flown a lot with all three major airlines. Delta is not the “go-to” airline. They all suck for different reasons, use what’s most convenient for you. If you travel for work, pick one most convenient most of the time and build points, but just remember each one is shit.

- Comment on What do you think the solution to selling progressive politics to young men is ? 1 month ago:
I understand. But you also can’t read one sentence about me and describe it as lucky. I had shitty abusive parents. I worked my way through college so it took a little longer. Struggled financially at times. Have lived with suicidal tendencies since my parents divorced when I was 12 and became even more shitty and abusive.
I’m only successful because of myself and the work I’ve put into my life to be where I am today. To me having a role model wouldn’t have done or changed anything. I get that others might need it, but I don’t think every straight white male in America needs a role model and is doomed to be a conservative just because they can’t find one.
There are plenty of straight white males that are progressive or liberal. The ones that are conservative aren’t that way just because of a shitty role model. Many are shitty in plenty of other ways.
- Comment on What do you think the solution to selling progressive politics to young men is ? 1 month ago:
Why do we need a role model anyway? I’m a straight white married male with no kids and very progressive. I don’t need a role model to not be a piece of shit.
