Why the fuck would you post this without tagging NSFW?

Dumbass. I don’t give a fuck if your fucked up country wants your children dead. I didn’t kill your children, and I didn’t make your dumbass laws, you fucking dumbass.
I don’t want to see people being murdered on my feed. That’s why I filtered out NSFW. Go fuck yourself.

They think the shooter was trans, but I’d bet real money that when the find the shooter its going to be a right winger. It almost always is.

update from the future: the suspect is Tyler Robinson, a young white Utah man from a Mormon family, with unregistered party affiliation. he confessed to his father, who called a youth pastor to talk him down from suicide, who then called US marshals to take him into custody.

Agreed. Right wingers picture stuff like etching slogans on bullets and bombs as being poetic justice or something, so they assume everyone does.

30.06 to the fucking neck. For those not in the know, that’s for taking a deer, through everything, lungs and heart. Considered a humane way to drop a medium-sized animal instantly. No pain. The shockwave is astonishing. Kirk’s brain and spinal column were shut down, he felt nothing, had no idea anything happened. He was “disconnected”.
My FIL shot a deer from front to back with that same round. He was so horrified seeing that animal ripple, never hunted again. I’m no hunter, but I feel him. I have my own reasons for not hunting.
Or, you’re living in WWII and shooting Nazis, which we see here. Get fucking used to it. This will be a sight on your own block soon enough. Take my AR? Aight. I’ll break out the 30.06.
Most gunshot deaths are exactly like this, with less spurting. Early internet, I saw a Mexican college kid protesting. Took a 12-gauge, 00-buck, straight to the chest, 12". He merely looked surprised, little blood bloomed on his shirt, dropped straight down.
It’s not Hollywood, people flying backwards through plate-glass windows. Nah. People simply drop on the spot, sack of potatoes. No drama. Simply dead. Early cowboy movies caught grief because the actors would simply drop when shot. That’s how it works.
I know most of y’all aren’t shooters. Here’s my poor joke on the difference in AR-15 rounds vs. 30.06. Charlie was hit with a fucking cannon.
peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 1 day ago
I thought it was a .30-06. A .223 could do that at 200 yards, but the way it took him out looked almost identical to a good killshot on a deer. And the .30-06 was designed for much longer ranges than a .223.
WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 day ago
That is depressing. He never got to see in his last moments that he fucked up, he just became a corpse.
BigPotato@lemmy.world 1 day ago
It’s ‘humane’ to shoot the deer in the heart! You’re not supposed to give the deer a rectal exam with them!
PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 1 day ago
This is a solid copypasta btw.
Gladaed@feddit.org 1 day ago
You can survive a lot of gunshot wounds. It’s not as sure and final as you make it out to be.
jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 1 day ago
That sucks :(
obviouspornalt@lemmynsfw.com 1 day ago
Hunted a bit growing up. My guess is, if you hit a human pretty much anywhere above the thighs with .30-06, they’re not going to live through it. The hydrostatic shock is devastating and the exit woulnd is significant.
If the round was armor piercing, .30-06 has enough force to go through a car engine block.

I’ve shot a deer in the neck before. God damn do they have a lot of blood.

Case in point: All the 9/11 memes today
gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
Ngl, the fact that a 9/11’s worth of people were dying every fucking day, just in the US, during the peak of Covid, and one entire fucking half of our country was just shitposting and TRYING to spread it more entirely reframed 9/11 for me. Before, it was A Serious Thing. Now… well, I have put on my absurdism glasses.
gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
Yeah - however long it took OP to make the meme is the appropriate amount of time
BanMe@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Normally blood and gore makes me upset. For whatever reason, I smiled the first time I saw this video. Then the next 15 times as well.
MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Some guy yesterday described it as all the hate he spouted had emptied that bucket of empathy a normal person would feel. There is only so many times you can hear such hateful and hurtful things that POS said before you lose the ability to feel any sympathy for them. Sorta like what he felt for everyone but just for him. In my case I felt nothing bad when I saw that video. Nor the image above.
mic_check_one_two@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day ago
In times like this, fascists will work to weaponize empathy. They’ll say you’re an awful person if you don’t feel bad about it. They’ll say you’re awful for shit-talking, because you lack empathy. In reality, demanding empathy from the victims of fascism is another violence against the victims that those fascists actively work to oppress.
Fascists have mastered the act of shooting and crying, then using empathy (or more specifically, the lack thereof) to demonize the same people they have been shooting at. They begin by oppressing people. When those oppressed people eventually refuse to show empathy for the fascists, the fascists claim that the people they have been shooting at are monsters. And that is used to further justify the fascists’ actions.
Don’t fucking fall for it. This is the same idea behind “the tolerant left” being coined by conservatives. It’s used as a cudgel whenever intolerance is refused, like some sort of gotcha.

Someone made a joke on tiktok “going on a debate with Charlie Kirk” and put the Minecraft xp sound (in Minecraft when you kill a mob, you get XP which you can later use to enchant armor and tools… Picking it up has distinct sound)

I 100% agree. Reminded me of budd Dwyer. I’m all for gibbing and violence in video games because it’s not real but watching it IRL is a little sobering…
… Just a little

Here we have an image of an actual fucking Nazi suffering from the consequences of their actions from their own spreading of hatred, and you all are cursing and shitting on OP for not tagging it NSFL, when this is an issue with the Fediverse not OP being a dunce.
The other Lefties in these comments just being absolutely complete limp-dick losers is making me realize why we are losing elections to right-wing extremists across the globe.

Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 days ago
Please NSFW this for people who are specifically trying to avoid images of someone getting killed.
interdimensionalmeme@lemmy.ml 2 days ago
/u/dessalines I would suggest that community consensus should be able to apply the NSFW tag without poster or moderator intervention.
I think some “moderation actions” should be better crowdsourced beyond simple upvote/downvote system, to offload the burden on moderators who can then, only review community consensus actions, rather than perform all actions themselves and have to view and decide everything. One example of this is the “community notes” of Xitter. I think there is a lot of opportunity for improvement compared with the shadowy and unaccountable ways that moderation is usually performed on social media.
antonim@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 days ago
Yeah, you could keep usual moderators as the basis and ultimate arbiters, but it would be, at the very least, interesting to try your approach. E.g., anyone can check the mod queue and be randomly assigned to moderate a recently reported post, and to avoid abuse or mistakes it could require 2 or 3 people agreeing on how to resolve something.
kogasa@programming.dev 1 day ago
Isn’t there an NSFL tag? Idk, feels pretty obvious not to post this shit in communities that don’t commonly host gore
macaw_dean_settle@lemmy.world 2 days ago

People with PTSD exist and are on the same internet as you. People browse the internet in public where they don’t want to be flashing around images of dead people.
Behave like MAGA if you want, I just won’t be the one seeing it.

People can care about school shootings while also not wanting to see a dying body and someone's bloody gunshot wound randomly appear on their timeline when they're just trying to look at some fucking memes.
This is like if I started filling your timeline with random snuff films and gore videos, and when you complained, went "OH you don't like this? Well the human trafficking victims used in these videos didn't either."
Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 days ago
Deranged way to respond to someone who asked that a post be flagged as NSFW for people who don’t want see footage of someone being killed. Do you think anyone wouldn’t ask for footage of the school shooting to also be marked NSFW?
Go hang out in gore communities if the best reason you have to shove images of death in peoples’ faces is “victims also had to see it.” Seeing shit like that regularly is incredibly psychologically damaging, and you have no idea what other people are dealing with when they scroll across something real and violent like this.
Talk to a therapist if you think shoving these images in the faces of people who don’t want to see it is normal.
