The test was around brain dead frogs to see if they’d jump out or boil to death… Not about functional frogs.
- Comment on UK’s first use of city-wide facial recognition in Cardiff 1 week ago:
It’s shit and absolutely full of cameras! I don’t speed and it still makes me uncomfortable.
- Comment on UK’s first use of city-wide facial recognition in Cardiff 1 week ago:
Guess I’m not going there ever again. I live in rural ass area, so hopefully I have few years left before it reaches me… I’m surprised it’s not Nothingam first.
- Comment on But they are two bangin shirts 3 weeks ago:
I know ladies here are very rare… But. Maybe some gay bros can hear this too or anyone dating masc presenting person.
Buy them a nice shirt. They will treasure it forever. My wife bought me (girlfriend at the time, like first year of our relationship or so) sweatpants. I wore them today, 18 years later.
Things like that stay with us forever.
Now for those who are fashion blind like me, try to observe what they dress like, suggest something long the lines of “this could look good on you”. Apparently I pick good clothes, but in reality, it’s good because I complemented her in it. It doesn’t take much, but will mean a lot to your partner.
- Comment on Driver caught doing 122mph on 30mph road as UK’s shocking speed records revealed 3 weeks ago:
I wonder what were they driving? There’s likely some I teresting data there!

Publicly owned railway? Hold on there Thatcher!
- Comment on 2025 trailer be wild 2 months ago:
There are more sane comments here than on the “serious” news Lemmy.
- Comment on Subway lovers posted 2 months ago:
Subway is the only gluten free option fast food in UK. It’s the only place I can reliably eat at and I’ve yet to have a bad experience, staff goes above and beyond to not cross contaminate their food.

So Nazis are fine???
- Comment on Disposable vapes to be banned in England and Wales from June 4 months ago:
Someone said it’s an easy thing to get and “flavourful”. There’s plenty of cheap expensive vapes… I’ve seen coworkers with £250 on the unit itself and they have to clean it and replace coils? I can understand someone wanting a care free alternative" that works".
Not for me, just answering your question based on what I was told.
- Comment on Woman admits hurling McDonald's milkshake over Nigel Farage 4 months ago:
Because she admitted it. It also happens to be she’s on OnlyFans! Go figure…
- Comment on Alien Romulus 6 months ago:
Real talk, the CGI in that movie was fucking trash in the last 20 minutes. Alien 3 made it look more believable.
I have a lot of issues with the movie despite enjoying it.
But Jesus Christ, the “zoomer syndrome” is strong. Pase can only keep escalating, once it started there was no down moment. It really didn’t need the whole time limit etc. It could’ve been better.
- Comment on Minecraft. Family guy, even. 6 months ago:
Better than just hoarding the money like everyone else.
- Comment on The worst pick-up line I've ever gotten 7 months ago:
Most people disconnect the media from the creator… Not all, but hating on everyone who likes Harry Potter makes you look like a lunatic.
Fuck, Tolkien had some fucked up ideas too, but I’m not going around calling people out on it.
- Comment on Dyson job cuts: One third of vacuum company's UK workforce to go 7 months ago:
Thanks to their short quality, you won’t even have to wait long!
Unfortunately my Shark vacuum is going strong for its 9th year… Supposedly they are shot now too since Ninja is going down consumerism.

Dracula is cool as fuck tho.
- Comment on I need to wake up early 9 months ago:
I came to say that! It’s brilliant.
Maybe OP can strap it to their dick or shove it inside to achieve a desirable effect. I can only vouch for wrist mounted experience.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 10 months ago:
But I feel like I’m a rare breed of someone experiencing it and having years with “both” types. There’s a lot of curiosity from both camps because realistically, there’s little chance of anyone ever finding out which one is “better”. Honestly, both have pros and cons. I hope my comment puts people a bit at ease for having it forced upon them when they couldn’t say no and those who still can choose, don’t feel pressured into it or mislead by misinformation.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 10 months ago:
I can tell you. It is a lot.
But it’s not life altering and I do prefer it in a way, I’m not having issues finishing or anything like that. I had it done at a private hospital so it was done esthetically well. Very little scar tissue etc. But I wouldn’t make my son have one, that’s crazy. It happened and I had little choice in the matter. But it was conscious, body autonomy is important.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 10 months ago:
Nope… In adulthood.
- Comment on A conversation with my wife 10 months ago:
I had medical mutilation. I lost a lot of sensitivity down there. But it allows it to work and wife has been supportive in a country where it’s a rare thing.
- Comment on UK has worst rate of child alcohol consumption in world, report finds 10 months ago:
It’s also where all social life happened. I got my first job working for a bricklayer at the pub when I was 15.
- Comment on Peak technology 11 months ago:
Because if you make everything this level of shit and you sell someone “printer that always works at £6 a month!” It sounds like a great deal.
- Comment on Peak technology 11 months ago:
I’ve been around in IT long enough… The emails went to someone who has left or someone set auto delete “on these annoying spam emails!”.
Not to make it right or better, hp sucks donkey balls, but I don’t believe the would’ve been zero contact. If you buy a subscription printer and stop paying for a subscription… That’s on you.
- Comment on More than a fifth of UK adults not looking for work 11 months ago:
My wife couldn’t for 8 years… Childcare was and still is a nightmare. She’s going to apply for her first job since we moved from Ireland. We had zero benefits etc all this time.
It’ll suck. Big part of her money will be spent on childcare. But we can no longer afford to live.
- Comment on Schools given new guidance on stopping phone use 1 year ago:
They’re right. Phones aren’t allowed and have to be stored in lockers… What? Kids are breaking rules?! God can come down to earth tomorrow and tell kids not to use phones in class, the effect would’ve been about the same.
- Comment on Greece on the brink of legalising same-sex marriage 1 year ago:
But they could rule in terms of Poland and no gay zones? Is that really that different?
- Comment on Greece on the brink of legalising same-sex marriage 1 year ago:
How is this a conversation in 2024? You’d think it would’ve been an EU law by now.
- Comment on DragonFire: UK fires high-power laser at aerial targets for first time - with 'intense beam of light' able to cut through drones 1 year ago:
But is this the same type of light? We’re talking about pure heat damage, how do mirrors reflect heat?
- Comment on I'm never lonely cuz i got these little guys with me :) 1 year ago:
Visual snow syndrome. Yeah, the fussy tv static you also see? Ain’t normal and also part of it. You likely have constant ringing in your ears? Tinnitus is almost always linked with VSS.
