It sounds cool in theory, but modern tech companies aren’t going to make what you wanted as a kid. Whatever they make will be heavily enshittified.

Guess what Tim Apple? No one wants them just like no one wanted your stupid headset that I honestly can’t even remember what it was called.

My stare does it too, but there’s still plenty of other things that come in paper or plastic bags that I use for garbage i.e. takeout, etc that I’ve still got the same box of trash bags I bought like 8 years ago. Very rarely to I use an actual trash bag.

- Comment on Suspected 4chan Hack Could Expose Longtime, Anonymous Admins 4 weeks ago:
A person in my discord (with no source, so keep that in mind) sent the attached. He was theorizing that Q-anon was a Mossad operation based on this chart saying Israel has the highest quantity of posts after 2014. He’s fairly left leaning, and not one of the crazies on 4 chan yelling “the joos!” Having said that I have no idea if this chart is even legit.
- Comment on I feel like if asbestos was banned today there'd be a huge pro-asbestos movement 4 weeks ago:
A guy I went to HS with definitely did this one time on a dare. A piece of insulation fell out of the kiln in shop class n another kid smashed it n told this kid he’d give him $5 to snort it. No one thought he would, but this dude absolutely railed it. Someone asks the shop teacher later what the tiles were made of and he says asbestos mostly, but it’s fine as long as you don’t mess with it. 💀
I keep checking on his Facebook every couple of years to see if lung cancer got him. So far, he’s still kicking lol.

- Comment on Am I going crazy, or has people's spelling gotten awful lately? 4 weeks ago:
I hate this. For instance, using u instead of you, autocorrect often turns it to I. It also will fucking “correct” your to you’re when you typed your on purpose. I’m ready to just turn it off. It fucks up my posts, texts, emails all the time. I don’t have this issue on my laptop.

- Comment on Facebook Is Just Craigslist Now 4 weeks ago:
Not to my knowledge, but nextdoor is pretty clutch for getting secondhand goods and not supporting Meta. Scammers are far fewer, if not, nonexistent because you need to provide an address and verify it with a post card that they send you in the mail. At least that’s how it was when I signed up. Not sure if it changed. The only issue is you have to see all the posts from boomers whining about kids on their lawns or whatever.

- Comment on Should we boycott games with loot boxes? 5 weeks ago:
I already do, but I’m also not as avid a gamer as I once was. Every FPS became borderline unplayable when loot crates became a thing. Call me old fashioned, but I liked when games had the same weapons for everyone, and there weren’t random cards or whatever that made people’s guns more powerful / reload /shoot faster, etc. It really brings an imbalance to the game, and enables these stupid gambling sites. The companies making the games are making money hand over fist, so they aren’t going to stop any time soon barring regulation, and looking at this administration, good fucking luck with that. Boycott away.

Yes, as someone who works in supply chain, I definitely don’t have to update hundreds of PO’s to add tariff fees into everything, and the company is definitely not increasing price of the product onto our customers, because that’d be weird. China n Mexico are clearly going to make us rich.

In college, I played lacrosse. My teammate bought a Bluetooth 80’s style boombox to play in the bus on trips and to set the vibe coming off the bus and play music During warmups at away games. Honestly that thing was great. Outside of that particular context? Yeah, pretty shitty thing to do lol.
- Comment on Today's Survey. One point for everything that you have NEVER DONE 1 month ago:
1 point, only because my parents never bought an encyclopedia set. They were absolutely a thing when I was a kid. I definitely used one before, but never owned them. Hooray for being old I guess.

- Comment on Good to exercise at home instead of gym? 1 month ago:
Very true. Also, a lot of people went ape on home gym setups in 2020 with all the gyms closed. Some of those people are offloading the equipment now as they want more space for other things in the house, and you can get stuff significantly discounted.

I have a set of these (I didn’t pay retail, got them cheap off Craigslist). Adjustable from 10 to 90 lbs and a bench press. With these 2 things, I can do most exercises from the comfort of my home. I have no gym membership, but stay in decent shape. At the end of the day, it’s all about your discipline and sticking to it. Imo it’s much easier and more convenient for me to just go to my garage to work out vs driving 15 mins to/ from. It’s not for everyone tho. Some people like the social aspects of a gym.
- Comment on DoorDash will let users buy now, pay later for fast food, a possible worrying sign for the economy 1 month ago:
Exactly. Menu price is 30-50% higher, then add probably $15 in bullshit fees, and a tip for the driver. It’s just not worth it anymore.
