- Comment on Poll reveals the amount of Brits who would take weight-loss jabs for free on NHS 8 hours ago:
As someone who has kids, the only time I can get my workout in is after they’re asleep (or before they wake up, but I’m NOT a morning person). I set up a gym in my garage because at that point, driving to a gym and back adds too much time so close to bedtime and also I’d feel weird about leaving my wife and kids alone at night.
After Covid, I got really out of shape, and one day, I just couldn’t take it anymore and took some steps to getting back into a routine. I have a bench press I got off nextdoor for cheap, adjustable dumbbells (not so cheap but also got off nextdoor practically new for much cheaper than retail) and a treadmill I got for free. I got some gym flooring mats from Ross for ~$60. All in all maybe a $500-$600 investment. It’s been well worth it though. I feel much better and for the first time in a long time, I can stand to look at myself in the mirror. Finding the time especially as a parent is never easy, but you’ve gotta find something that works for you. We need to move our bodies. We weren’t meant to sit around all day, and frankly, I don’t think injecting yourself with these drugs is the answer to weight gain.

Liar liar. 90s movie where Jim Carey plays a lawyer that gets put under a spell or something n then can’t tell a lie anymore.

Daily reminder, you have freedom of speech in that the government won’t do anything about your speech, but you don’t have freedom from speech. Going out and protesting your employer and their business relationships can and will get you fired, no matter how just the cause.

That’s the plan. Get u locked in and jack up the price. Sell hardware at a loss, and make it up on the back end through subscriptions.
- Comment on Men Harassed A Woman In A Driverless Waymo, Trapping Her In Traffic 1 month ago:
If you’re a female, you are going to get out of the car to get in the street and hang out with these 2 males harassing you on the street? She’s definitely safer in the car. The 2 males are keeping her prisoner in the car against her will. the car cannot leave, and she cannot get out.

Definitely a false imprisonment charge though
- Comment on Dell Sales team told to return to office 5 days a week 1 month ago:
I agree to an extent, but while I’m not going to speak for everyone as my situation is unique, my role is as an individual contributor, and my role requires absolutely 0 teamwork. I have a set of tasks that need to be done by EOD, and so does the rest of my team. We don’t collaborate at all. When we were in office, the only benefit was we all sat together, so you could ask a team member for assistance if you got stuck on a unique issue.
During Covid, they redid our office. There are no assigned seats anymore. So when they do ask us to come in, I work at a random desk by myself. It’s absolutely stupid. I’m wasting gas and time driving to the office just to make an appearance to stroke management’s ego so they can physically see me in person.
- Comment on Hearing-impaired Russian woman killed after hearing aid mistaken for espionage device 1 month ago:
You know what? My sister has early hearing loss and now wears hearing aids. I’ve never thought about it, but honestly, the modern hearing aids could absolutely be used as an espionage device. They are hardly noticeable, Bluetooth enabled, and have microphones in them. I’m sure the post in the OP was an innocent civilian, but I genuinely wonder if that’s something the letter agencies have considered and / or do with informants.
- Comment on How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years? 1 month ago:
I replaced my mom’s can lights with LEDs and I was an early adopter. I believe it was ~2012-15 ish. Not a single one has died. The only reason any of them fail now is poor quality and / or planned obsolescence. The tech itself is solid AF. I had some bulbs I got from IKEA for $1. Those have failed countless times.

Did you grow it indoors the whole time? I’m in a temperate climate, but mine never seem to make it through the winter. I didn’t know they would still flower if grown indoors.

Nextdoor is also good for selling stuff. But you need to verify your address through either an ID or they send you a post card. Keeps the bots off though.
