Neither on Apple devices though? There aren’t many exploits to “jailbreak” Android phones.

AOSP is fully Apache-2.0 licensed except for the Linux kernel, so only their kernel changes would have to be. It’s also an important reason why Android was/is so successful.

Man that rule is such bullcrap. Imagine a photo editor that only allowed you to edit your own pictures and only those matching the app’s content rating.

If you’re new to it, maybe check out Katawa Shoujo: Re-Engineered. Same story but ported to be more modern under-the-hood. Apparently there’s even a web version thanks to Wasm!

- Comment on Why is Google allowed to remove purchases from our Play Store accounts without telling us? 5 months ago:
That’s why Android apps must be signed. Tools can show an app’s certificate hash and if two app versions’ hashes match, they’re equally trustworthy / from the same source. I think APKMirror does this and it’s actually quite trusthworthy.

- Comment on Windows PCs can't sleep properly, and Microsoft wants it that way 7 months ago:
I actually like suspend to RAM. Makes my laptop usable after sleep a bit faster. But absolutely not on Windows because then my fans are still spinning after minutes like many have reported. But I was simply able to disable that with a registry tweak and it’s now going to regular ACPI S3 when I close the lid. Is my Framework Laptop 13 (i5-1240P) an uncommon exception?
