We’ll just single order a second bag so that we’ve got one in stock. It’s kind of ridiculous to have 68 lb of dog food around but it won’t go bad that soon.
Single bag comes in, 3 days later reorder bag comes in…

In the middle of trying to solve this we get another reorder.
Chewy lets us cancel and donate that bag to the local animal shelter.
We change over from a duck version to a salmon version, dogs been eating it fine now for 2 years.
I love chewy to death but between our own incompetence and our dogs fickle eating habits…
I’ve started baking chicken thighs from Costco. $1.79 a pound, They are easy to debone and a $20 package fills four tall deli containers. The dry food is now a condiment for teeth health. And if it runs out she can Make it just fine on meat for a couple of days.

This, but every evening a week straight until the bottle is actually empty and then I walk around with greasy hair until I get weird looks from people at the mall, at which point I remember to buy it.
It is either that or you go buy shampoo, then put it somewhere in the house where you forget all about it and go buy another and forget all about that one too and then you run out of shampoo and are like “oh fuck, I need to buy shampoo” and you manage to remember and come home with a third bottle and then the others start popping up in weird places over the following days.
I am at the end of one such misadventure. I am almost finished with bottle number two and bottle number three disappeared from the kitchen for weeks and reappeared recently in my couch and I put it in the bedroom so I am reminded of it’s existence everyday now. Eventually it will find its way to the bathroom.
Everytime I’m at the store and I pass the shampoo aisle I have to remind myself that Mr couch shampoo is still very much full and very much on its way to the bathroom.
why not put them all together next to each other, you know, in the bathroom, where you bathe?

Then you put the extra bottle you bought away, and realize you really should have checked the cabinet, and now you have 3.
In two years, only these two guys thought of buying more shampoo.
Back before covid, like June of 2019, I bought a whole bunch of soap, shampoo etc. figuring that stuff has a very long shelf life. I’m actually still working through the stocks I bought, I’ve probably got enough bath soap to last into the 2030s.
I decided not to buy a bulk lot of toilet paper, not knowing I live in the dumbest timeline.
This, right here, is the highest quality “Shower Thought” I’ve ever encountered. You win!

This is why I set the bottle in the bathroom sink after having this thought. Its hard to ignore something so out of place and in the way
adhd life hack: do weird shit so you can trust you’ll remember it and become free to forget things
Then when you go to use the sink you set it aside cause you need to use the sink and it’s promptly forgotten again.
Hard, but still doable.

Toss it over the curtain so that it clatters to a weird spot that is hard to miss.
Then remember immediately the next time you get in the shower. Vicious cycle.

I have three bottles, still sitting neatly in their half of the 2 pack packaging. It hurts.
Took me about 5 seconds to get this.
So…not a LONG time, but I’m still ashamed it wasn’t instant.
