Are there really articles for every completely expected tech advance like this?
- Comment on Avocado. Is it really so untasty or I am doing something wrong? 1 day ago:
Seems like you’re missing the part of the internet with, like, recipes. How did you manage to get here, without looking up Avocado on or as food?

3.What if all the public plugs are occupied when you want to charge and you find yourself without battery to go to "ork tomorrow?
It sounds crazy, but I’d sit and wait the five minutes, much like I’ve done for pumps on occasion.
- Comment on LibreOffice blasts 'fake open source' OnlyOffice for working with Microsoft to lock users in 1 week ago:
I’ll try those keys. But when you have a document with multiple chapters, the actual buttons on a scroll bar that is full width and static are pretty critical. Not everyone uses it for TPS reports.
- Comment on EA invents new microtransaction nightmare as it breaks paywall promise on Skate: rent a playable area for 24 hours or buy a premium pass, bucko 2 weeks ago:
Well, I was looking forward to a new Mass Effect, but the idea of playing something like that made by Kushner and the Saudis would probably make tears in reality. Like, I’m pretty sure the paradox will make serious issues.
- Comment on LibreOffice blasts 'fake open source' OnlyOffice for working with Microsoft to lock users in 2 weeks ago:
As soon as Writer allows for a static standard scroll bar that doesn’t auto-hides, I will. Call me irrational, but I cannot use an application based around scrolling with no real scroll bar.

Uh…Jared Kushner owns EA now, so I don’t know why this would be relevant to anyone.

Why is lead used at all? Why not steel?
- Comment on Across the US, people are dismantling and destroying Flock surveillance cameras. Anger over ICE connections and privacy violations is fueling the sabotage. 2 weeks ago:
Well, the CEO did openly invite and approve of this. In his own words, Flock cameras aren’t forced on anyone. So the only logical conclusion is to destroy them if so desired.

Acting on it? I mean, I guess opening and closing your mouth is technically action.

Poorly what?
Poorly everything.

I tried kb&m for Witcher 3 for about 5 minutes. It was miserable.

No smell has ever elevated when I near an ant colony, and I see wild ant colonies all the time. So I’m pretty sure I can’t.

- Comment on CEO of Palantir Says AI Means You’ll Have to Work With Your Hands Like a Peasant 4 weeks ago:
Apparently he did, according to this article, and his incredibly unfathomably misguided belief that LLMs can philosophize and have original thought.
- Comment on CEO of Palantir Says AI Means You’ll Have to Work With Your Hands Like a Peasant 4 weeks ago:
This guy has absolutely no understanding of humanities studies like philosophy and original or creative thought, or how AI works if he thinks those are the fields being threatened. If anything, I’d say his job is more at risk. Maybe librarians.

- Comment on Gaming market melts down after Google reveals new AI game design tool — Project Genie crashes stocks. (A.K.A . Investors panic because they don't understand what "real" videogames are) 4 weeks ago:
Why does Google keep trying to make AI, when they’re soooo bad at it, and pretty much everything else they do?
- Comment on The people like AI because they treat it like a search engine. 5 weeks ago:
Yes and no. It sometimes kind of tries to extrapolate from lots of sources and just gives you a few of them that don’t really give an answer.
- Comment on The people like AI because they treat it like a search engine. 5 weeks ago:
They do. But their LLM in my experience really isn’t very good. If ChatGPT is like a B+ student, Google’s is the special Ed kid in a helmet.
- Comment on The people like AI because they treat it like a search engine. 5 weeks ago:
But you’re asking it an abstract idea that most people probably wouldn’t agree on.
- Comment on The people like AI because they treat it like a search engine. 5 weeks ago:
Well, Search engines have become nearly useless even with proper phrasing, so yeah I do often just let AI dig through it for me.
- Comment on Apple to Soon Take Up to 30% Cut From All Patreon Creators in iOS App 5 weeks ago:
Right, but Valve is actually providing the service and infrastructure. Apple is not.
- Comment on Apple to Soon Take Up to 30% Cut From All Patreon Creators in iOS App 5 weeks ago:
It’s a little different though. Valve is providing the actual platform, and running it. Apple doesn’t own Patreon, they simply host a client.

Ok…and?
