- Comment on How do you search for "amateurish" song covers? 1 week ago:
I come across these bedroom covers all the time when I’m looking for “(song name) acapella”, even though a lot of the times they’re not actually acapella versions. But sometimes they are. Love finding these and seeing another unknown person’s passion for music.

- Comment on Does the first-born child in a family "mature" faster than the later-born children? 1 week ago:
There’s a thing called Birth Order theory and it may or may not be bullshit and subject to cognitive bias, but I will say that anecdotally it seems mostly accurate when I think of my group of friends growing up and their siblings. There are definitely some exceptions though, like my friend who is the younger brother, but is more responsible than his big bro, though we suspect the older brother suffers from some sort of undiagnosed mental illness and is unwilling to get checked out. Short answer in my opinion is yes, the older sibling tends to mature faster. I do think that the older sibling has some power over the younger ones by virtue of being older and more mentally developed while growing up. Whether they use that to nurture and protect, or abuse the younger sibling is more a matter of personality than birth order though.
For your second question about feeling immature, I think it can happen to anyone at any time. Being put in a tough situation and feeling helpless about it can make a grown person feel like a child, despite being an otherwise mature adult. For me it happened less the more I became independent. But it still happens. For example, if car issues pop up I can get the feeling of “oh shit, I need an adult”. I think personality is a big factor here too. As an only child my perception is that I feel less willing to ask for help than others, at least until I try to find a solution myself. Some friends who were younger siblings seemed to always be getting catered to, getting rides to places, etc. That might also be influenced by other factors like family’s finances.

- Comment on Is it possible to cool my body enough to not sweat while exercising? 1 week ago:
More fans and/or a portable A/C certainly seem to help. If there is air moving over you while you sweat it will evaporate faster and cool you down as intended, making you more comfortable. You can’t really stop sweat altogether, only manage it.

Anyway, I just discovered that English has the same word for the crabs that walk on the ground and the ones that swim around. Those taste completely differently.
Please describe the difference

Getting lost. I like exploring until I’m done exploring, and then I have a low tolerance for wandering aimlessly. I don’t need an indicator and a map to tell me where to go, but I appreciate a sign post or NPC to nudge me in the right direction if I need it. Sometimes level/world design does not help in areas that look samey, so landmarks or some sort of unique feature are appreciated.
- Comment on Do you preorder games? 1 month ago:
Preorder, no. I don’t usually buy brand new games. FF Tactics remake was the most recent and I needed to see a few days of reviews to build the trust to buy it. Maybe if Fromsoft releases another one-player game I’ll consider that. I’m not sure the types of developers I usually buy games from tend to even do preorder, it seems to be bigger studios from what I have seen.
Early access, yes for a few select indie developers that I want to support. ATLYSS because it’s priced low and looks great. Into the Unwell will be a day 1 purchase once it reaches early access, since I have played the closed beta and know I want it. Trinity 64 will be another one I’m excited for if it gets an EA release. I’m ok with EA for these because they’re the types of games I yearn for and I want more of them, and I know my contribution makes an impact to the devs.

It looks great and it’s been on my wishlist. Unfortunately the price is not right for me yet, and there were other games of higher priority on my wishlist for now. Maybe next year.

Keep playing TUNIC. It’s great.
Someone else mentioned Death’s Door which I see as TUNIC’s overlooked cousin.
Some others that are similar, have either played them or purchased and not played yet, due to similar taste to yours:
Alwa’s Awakening & Alwa’s Legacy Anodyne Blossom Tales series Fountains Lunacid The Messenger Moonlighter series Unsouled

I mean kinda, and I definitely see your logic. To be “that guy”, though, the definition of a blizzard includes some specific conditions, at least where I’m from; 40 km/h winds, visibility of 400 metres or less, and it has to last at least 4 hours.

- Comment on 3rd-person shooters optimized for controllers? 2 months ago:
I’m also a PC gamer who prefers using a controller. No doubt a mouse is better for aiming, I just find a controller more comfortable and easier to relax with while playing, especially after working a desk job all day.
You should check out Remnant 2 and Risk of Rain 2.

- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
I followed the dev logs on Youtube and learned a few Godot tricks from them. Got this in day one to support the dev and indie scene and just started playing. It’s a blast. Fast paced hack and slash parkour action. It feels extremely satisfying to clear a room of enemies as you whip around.
