Wouldnt be surprised if they added ads to Microsoft Teams or Google Meet (or whatever it’s called this month)
- Comment on A screenshot that is the old evidence of my first ever attempt at a game. 1 week ago:
Looks pretty much like my first attempts lol
I do miss that carefree goofing around. Now I need to design, plan, optimize, etc. I know how to do stuff (mostly), so there less exploration and discovery and more of just work.
But at least stuff I make now is better hah (or at least I hope so)

I think it’s rather that those buildings were built 50 years ago and they are still standing today as they were back then (some got thermal insulation and some color) but the inside could have been renovated last year, so it’s new

With Valve talking about open ecosystems so much, I have glimmer of hope that they’ll move to RISC-V.
Probably not gonna happen though… At least not yet

Interesting, thanks for sharing!

I use Dualsense for controller which has a trackpad, but I can’t imagine using it for anything other than the occasional click or two. Do you find them good enough for games? If so, which ones?

- Comment on Red Dead Redemption 2 overtakes Mario Kart 8 as the 4th best-selling video game of all time, boasting 79 million sales 4 weeks ago:
If you had a DRM-free version on a CD and you lost that CD, would you just pirate that game? Not trying to judge or anything (I’ve sailed the seas myself), just genuinely curious

I think I get what you’re trying to say, that non-genital features are more aesthetically pleasing. That genitals aren’t that often featured in art. We usually don’t go “wow those are some pretty genitals, damn”.
But, it’s also just your brain that tells you that the other parts are pretty. I bet all of them would look weird to an alien. It’s just your brain telling you what to like

- Comment on There is a limit how much power the pedal assist of an e-Bike is allowed to provide (at least in many countries). There is no limit though on how strong the exoskeletton is that you use on a regular b 2 months ago:
“There’s no rule that says a beetle can’t ride a bike!”
- Comment on [Any Austin] Do Red Dead Redemption 2's Power Lines Connect to Anything? 2 months ago:
TL;DW is they connect to a power plant and they have a map-wide grid, but then it turns out that it doesn’t make sense, given the historical setting

This is Rust syntax, but there’s similar syntax in Haskell

List comprehension is another thing I don’t like about Python :)
There’s more of those, but one thing I do like about Python is that I get paid for writing it, so I try not to complain too much
- Comment on proportional reaction 2 months ago:
What I like about using
ifandelsefor that is that you’re already using those keywords for branching in other parts of the code.Though my least favorite is probably Python’s:
x = "foo" if y > 5 else "bar"It just seems backwards to me
- Comment on proportional reaction 2 months ago:
x = if y > 5 { "foo" } else { "bar" }This is just superior to anything else

I’m with you on that one. I don’t care what the scientists say, there’s no way quantum physics is random, we just don’t know where to look yet. And entanglement? Nah, you made this one up.
Anyway, I didn’t get into a university, but I’m not bitter about it, no.

Spoilers I guess
IIRC they were made to look like humans so that later human souls can take over those bodies, to avoid a total human extinction due to some virus. But the clothes? Uhhh idk ¯\(ツ)/¯

- Comment on if "you are what you eat", and you only eat vegans, you're both vegan and not at the same time 2 months ago:
If vegans eat only plants, that makes them plants, thus if you eat them you are still just vegan, because you as well eat only plants.
Happy to help

No, they just imagined ~800 tits. Maybe even at once.
The image in the post also uses watts where watt-hours might be more applicable, so we are already more in the realm of memes than science
