I bet it slows down the idiot software developers more than anything.
Everything can be broken into smaller easily defined chunks and for that AI is amazing.
Give me a function in Python that if I provide it a string of XYZ it will provide me an array of ABC.
The trick is knowing how it fits in your larger codebase. That’s where your developer skill is. It’s no different now than it was when coding was offshored to India. We replaced Ravinder with ChatGPT.

Fun story. I once put my car on a site called lease busters because my ex and I were looking to get a bigger vehicle and there was 3 years left on the lease.
It’s long lost to time but I had a dude message me saying he would be willing to take the lease but said I could keep the car and insurance under my name.
Like what in the absolute fuck?!

So I wanted to have 9 kids but ended up finishing out at 3. So technically a savings of 6 kids! I’m helping the environment!
Being pedantic a nebulous “having one fewer kid” means nothing unless there’s a benchmark. I think they mean “having one fewer kid as a country average” so if the average Canadian has 1.26 children per women we want to see it .26 per women.

Sigh. The responses you get really dishearten me. We really are moving fast to a binary world where everything is good or bad and any opportunity for nuance is thrown out the window.
You are of course 100% correct.

There’s a reason I’m very adamant at hating Apple for a multitude of technical reasons. This is but one of them. It’s a shame too because their build quality is really S-Tier.
- Comment on PewDiePie: I'm DONE with Google 2 weeks ago:
Same reason it continually sucks to get a working Linux build on an apple laptop or desktop.
As bad as Google is, they’re lightyears ahead of Apple in terms of protecting their products in a walled garden.

Bingo. If anything what you’re finding is the people bitching are the same people that if given a bike wouldn’t know how to ride it, which is fair. Some people understand quicker how to use the tools they are given.

To this point. As soon as you use technology you have no privacy and if you think you do you’re an idiot. There is no such thing as privacy in a digital world. There never was.
As soon as you understand that you can shift your focus to what you want of yourself out there if you don’t want it known don’t say it just like if I was in a room full of people. As soon as technology is involved that’s the room full of people.
I am amazed that people struggle with this or refuse to acknowledge it

I’d also argue it’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you’re talking shit be sure you’re able to back it up. I am naturally contrarian but in many cases it’s less about what I feel and more about taking the side of the voice that is missing.
