Kind of incredible how we pretty much invented those 3 extra numbers to make sure that knowing what’s on the front won’t he enough to use it, and then we undid that by putting it on the back. xkcd.com/2677

Pretty sure some merchants also ask for billing address, name on card, and phone number.
All this fails if the bank flags the transaction and requires 2fa.
