- Comment on Are Nintendo's $80 online game prices a result of tariffs or is Nintendo just using them as an excuse to price gouge as corporations do? 18 hours ago:
Kinda sorta. Remember the pandemic? Prices went up but never came back down. I suspect the tariffs will do this as well

Does something malicious on windows. They can also do something similar by detecting your os and making you run the mac or linux alternative.

- Comment on Global foldable smartphone shipments increased by just 2.9% YoY in 2024, and shipments are expected to decline by about 4% YoY in 2025. 5 days ago:
Linus tech tips did an Android 30 day challenge trying to convert apple users and one of them said the foldable phone was nice because it actually fit in their pockets and belongings. Eventually they still stuck with their iphone because they’re too dependent on the ecosystem though.
- Comment on I'm looking for a no frills, physical key EV. Am I looking for something that no longer exists? 5 days ago:
A while back I was looking in to this and I just did some quick online searches and found youtube videos of guys doing it. Not sure if there are forums dedicated to it, that would be interesting though.

Depending on the car, you might be able to just rip the modem out of it and so you just use your key fob to enter. Essentially making it a dumb car

Every little bit your device sends to google is being used. Your IP, mac address, email contents, cookies (now kinda phased out by fingerprinting), phone number, etc

- Comment on Apple barred from Google antitrust trial, putting $20 billion search deal on the line 1 week ago:
I will be honest, say there’s a new law that says on every device, users have the initial choice to select between any search engine, they’ll probably choose google anyways because most of these people have grown up that way.
Make a better alternative and people will come. Ddg is ok but it still is basically a reskinned Bing and Bing itself isn’t that good. Other search engines aren’t as polished yet either

Not an answer to your question but I would like to point out I just listened to Fall of Civilizations’ episode on the Mayan Empire and the Spaniards came over and brought almost everything down, used them as slave labored and occupied their lands.
