Fun fact, if their hit song 1985 were made today referencing a similar passage of time, the song would be called 2007.

We’re further from 1985 than 1985 was from 1985!

I did not find this fact fun

Us old farts can remember a TV show called Bowling for Dollars and I always assumed their name was a play on that.
Banana@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks ago

Soup has had a rough time ever since the Campbell CEO called it food for the poor. Hopefully this event will help soup get over that hump.

I don’t care for soup. It seems like food but it has too much water.
Soggy food.

I might be out of line, but I’d go as far as calling it wet.

I like soup. it’s efficient because the beverage is already in the meal.
SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 3 weeks ago
Even more efficient is to just dump the soup in the toilet and FLUSH.

Etterra@discuss.online 3 weeks ago

I was under the assumption that the soup was a stand-in for the bowling pins…

Bowling so the soup doesn’t have to

Seeing a bowl usually means imminent death to soup. It’s only humane to spare them the trauma.

Managed to snag free tickets to see them and Buckcherry warming up for Steel Panther a while back.
Bowling for Soup were absolutely superb; charismatic crowd-pleasers, loads of energy, top songs, great to watch. Buckcherry played for about twenty minutes and then fucked off, which is gutting because it was them that I really wanted to see. And then Steel Panther played for about two hours, faaaar too long for a one-joke band, and went past ‘satirically sleazy’ into just ‘sleazy’, which is not the same.
Take home message is really ‘go see Bowling for Soup’, I suppose.
