- Comment on Would there be any merit in the idea of NATO waging a "benevolent war" (for lack of a better term) against Ukraine? 1 hour ago:
NATO isn’t an army, it’s a defense pact. Member countries can’t just launch an attack against a non-member country (especially to “protect” said non-member).
- Comment on If a leftist ran for president, would liberals support him? 12 hours ago:
I think it’s fair to say that ~80% of voters will just follow whatever their party’s media outlets say they should vote for. If a proper leftist and actually got the DNC nomination, I don’t think many classic liberals would think twice about voting for them.
- Comment on What is your favorite Assassin's Creed game? 1 month ago:
Yeah lol. This seems to be a popular opinion in the larger gaming community. They really nailed the pirate life
- Comment on What is your favorite Assassin's Creed game? 1 month ago:
Black Flag, followed closely by 3. It doesn’t hurt that those were released right at the peak of my interest in gaming, but I replayed BF within the past two years and it still holds up super well
- Comment on Concord Director Steps Down As Studio Behind Historic PlayStation Flop Waits For Sony's Decision 1 month ago:
It’s actually pretty crazy just how hard that game flopped. I would have always thought that a company like Sony could’ve just brute-forced such a big project to achieve some success (or at least break even), but 25,000 units sold is almost unheard of for a game as expensive as Concord.
- Comment on Men: What sequence do you fellow to dry your body off after showering or bathing? 1 month ago:
I start with drying my anus and work in concentric circles out from that, so yes, my face is about last
- Comment on Norway's simple answer to greener, cleaner living 1 month ago:
Step 0: be born in an underpopulated, NATO-subsidized ethnostate with a history of eugenics that would make America blush
- Comment on Sony Increases PS5 Controller Prices in US, Europe, and More 2 months ago:
Funny because I noticed the haptic feedback for the first time recently after owning my PS5 for over a year and was instantly looking for ways to disable it. I don’t trust an unnecessary vibrating motor not to fuck up the parts of the controller I actually care about and the Dualsense battery life is abysmal enough as it is
- Comment on High Beam 2 months ago:
“Dr*nk” is a slur, we prefer “person who drinks.” And it’s only a couple beers to get the shakes down before I get on the road and a couple of road beers as needed if they come back
- Comment on High Beam 2 months ago:
When I was younger I’d always make sure to toss a beer can straight at the windshields of those jerkasses. Always had plenty rolling around in the foot wells. Might just have to start doing that again as long as automakers keep shipping out cars with the head of Helios shoved into where the headlamps are supposed to be
- Comment on I have been to jail in the US. How come they always offer a bible instead of offering you different religious books like a quran? 2 months ago:
Probably sponsored by a local Church. I’m sure that prisons in areas with large Jewish, Muslim, etc. populations have similar programs.
Talking out of my ass here, I can’t imagine it would be that difficult for someone to get a holy book from a different religion, though
- Comment on Dollar General warns poorer US consumers are running out of money 2 months ago:
Dollar General is cancer. Their prices are no better than somewhere like Walmart, the only “good” thing is the convenience, I feel like I can’t drive ten minutes without passing one
- Comment on Trump criticizes Harris, Biden over Afghanistan withdrawal on 3-year anniversary 2 months ago:
Not only that, but a withdrawal that was done, by all accounts, pretty by-the-numbers. It was a withdrawal, the US was going to pull out their forces, that’s what the word means. The ANSF were the ones who failed their people.
Seriously, ask someone about how “bad” the withdrawal was and they’ll go on about nonsense that even they don’t even care about.

You’ve never worked retail, have you?
- Comment on Inflation? 2 months ago:
No? The inflation of the past few years was way too apparent for the current administration to ignore in their reelection campaign, but “inflation” is a scary word with some serious political connotations that no sitting official wants to connect themselves to. Instead, you just say “it’s not inflation, It’s corporate greed!” and you’re saying the same thing twice.
See how “Depression” became “Recession” which became “Economic Downturn”
- Comment on Inflation? 2 months ago:
Always has been. Saying “I-its not inflation! It’s… corporate greed!” was always a political decision and nothing more

Maybe my comment was a bit rude but please don’t teach your daughter to instantly distrust people based on their gender. That’s a recipe for undersocilization that’s going to fuck her up for a long time

- Comment on what should I write in a job application for an office job in healthcare away from the bedside that doesn't close the door completely to bedside? 2 months ago:
But writing that I’m a nerd for figures and love assigning numbers to cases and also love large and properly formatted data files sounds ridiculous.
Welcome to job searching, it’s all bullshitting anyway
- Comment on hey, since we're posting vans, anyone have suggestions for a good cargo van? 2 months ago:
Re: your question
A Ford econoline is probably your best bet. They’re ugly as sin but they made about four billion of them so parts will always be available and cheap. The zesty (and slightly harder to find / more expensive) answer is a Chevy Astro/GMC Safari AWD van. Neither one will come with a roof rack but aftermarket ones can be found in abundance and cheap.

pity Olympics
If 40% of your income every month is being vaporized into nonequitable housing, you’re probably broke. You being taken advantage of even more than most people doesn’t make them “not broke” and you frankly come across as a jaded cynic more than anything.

“Okay I cut back on the SODAS and AVACADO TOAST and CONCERT TICKETS(!) and now I’m saving $76/month. Any tips on rent taking up 40% of my income?”
you’re just bad at managing money.
No, this country is bad at paying people.
- Comment on Survey: Almost 50% of Americans Consider Themselves ‘Broke’ 2 months ago:
I’ve been saying this for months now. If every metric of the economy says things are doing great but people are reporting unprecedented levels of economic anxiety, the the metrics we use to measure the economy are flawed!
Seriously. An economy isn’t dictated by natural law. We’re not finding the diffusal rates of two different viscous liquids or trying to piece together why particle X behaves the way it does in light, we’re talking about an entirely man-made artificial construct. If the people who make up “the economy” are saying the economy’s bad, we already have the conclusion and should be working backwards from that.

- Comment on Remember when 15% was the expected, not the minimum? 3 months ago:
Tipped employees generally make way more than anything they’d realistically get on a wage but yeah counter staff gets the worst of it. Shitty wages and they have to deal with people like me who specifically ask where’s the “no tip” button on the screen

I got a coffee the other day on a date night. Girl (I can say that, she had her pronouns on her nametag) turned the iPad around for me to pay. I shit you not, the options were 0%, 25%, 50%, and “100% if [barista’s name] knocked it out of the park today!” Who tf is falling for that?
