Black Mirror is real.
NatakuNox@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
We’re using Black Mirror, Idiocracy, and Handmaids Tale as a blueprint at this point.

I would fucking hate getting “i miss you son” messages from my dead parents
errer@lemmy.world 7 hours ago
“I miss you son…almost as much as I miss the energy of Five Hour Energy Dubai Chocolate Crunch!”
panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 11 hours ago
That’s abuse and harassment.
There’s no other way to look at it. It is not that relative, it’s fraud to claim it is, and it’s just disgusting to pull at the heart strings like this to make money.

“By the way, you would look great in these raybans™”
roofuskit@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Lol, this is because most of their Facebook users will be dead in the next 5 years.

How are these companies so Sociopathic that they don’t immediately understand how awful an idea this is?
gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 8 hours ago
Unfortunately, the c-suites can’t hear you over the sound of their multimillion dollar annual bonus checks clearing
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 hours ago
At least we can hear their sobs when their sales slump, and their corporations nosedive.
Widdershins@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
If you want to shitpost from beyond the grave do it yourself
Golden@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 hours ago
What an intellectually dishonest title. You can’t keep posting after your death; your persona and all the relationships you spent a lifetime building become commodities for Meta to profit from
karashta@piefed.social 11 hours ago
No one gave a shit about my shitty low effort shit while alive. Who the fuck wants a slop version of me to be disappointed in as well?
KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 11 hours ago
Hey, none of that. Around here, all content is valuable, low-effort and shitty or not. As long as it was posted by a human; fuck AI.
poleslav@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
This is the kinda positivity that I needed to start my day, thanks stranger lol
karashta@piefed.social 11 hours ago
It’s alright. I don’t believe it was all that bad. But I never really tried or cared, so it was 100% low effort haha
FauxLiving@lemmy.world 6 hours ago
Meta knows that you don’t have to be dead for this to work, now you can respond to your friends on Facebook in a manner that most optimizes engagement… whether you want to or not.

Another Black Mirror Story becoming reality: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Be_Right_Back
Murdoc@sh.itjust.works 5 hours ago
And Caprica, and Limitless (the tv show, not the movie). Probably others. (Even a Babylon 5 episode was related, but more fantasy than sci-fi.)

Ultimate vendor lock-in
tomiant@piefed.social 9 hours ago
Finally, so I can keep being banned forever.
astraeus@lemmy.ml 11 hours ago
90% of their social media is already bots anyway would it really change much
thoughtfuldragon@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 hours ago
So that meta can speak through your corpse after you die.
ivanafterall@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
At least someone wants my body, I can’t give it away.
abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 12 hours ago
Meta announcement soon: “We made an update to our privacy statement. The most sogbificant change is that we have now explicitly stated that you, the user, are in full control of your account and your data and you will have a lifelong, exlusive right to that data. We are doing this in the users best interest and comply with privacy regulations.”
Conveniantly leaving out that they’re effectively changing nothing except that you now loose all rights to your data and your account after you die.
VaalaVasaVarde@sopuli.xyz 11 hours ago
This is just a gimmick compared to an Alpha-level simulation, if it becomes possible.
pinball_wizard@lemmy.zip 11 hours ago
That’s a no from me, dawg.
My post-life AI clone will have a single purpose: shitposting to Meta services about how shitty those same Meta services are.
Xaphanos@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Y’all are gonna love reflekta.ai
Reflekta turns the stories, memories, and artifacts of the lives of you and your loved ones into private and interactive Reflektions that can be connected with anytime.

Holy fuck
Grimy@lemmy.world 9 hours ago
I kind of want to get this for my family. Control the heating and stuff, idk
hayvan@piefed.world 10 hours ago
Um. Can it start shitposting on my behalf so I can quit completely?
MagicShel@lemmy.zip 10 hours ago
How much would it suck to wake up one day to find you’ve gone viral for words you never posted?
Guess it wouldn’t matter if you only went viral with AI. Until the AI death threats start.
tomiant@piefed.social 9 hours ago
How much would it suck to wake up and realize your shitmeme went viral and that is the highlight of your life?
MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 12 hours ago
Bad enough to replace actual people with AI fakes, but maybe let’s not have them puppeting the corpses of the dead, yeah?

He was just “showing” her his gun after she watched news about “gun violence” and accidentally shot her in the chest.
He also doesn’t love her that much:
