- Comment on Ubisoft target audience when they play a good game 6 days ago:
Yeah I played it for the first time last year and I couldn’t really get into it. Gave up a few hours in.
- Comment on What if the Internet Goes Down? - 15 Jan, 7PM CET 1 week ago:
So much of our infrastructure uses the internet now that if it goes down I wouldn’t be shocked if electric grids, healthcare, shopping, public transport, etc also shit the bed.
- Comment on Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney argues banning Twitter over its ability to AI-generate pornographic images of minors is just 'gatekeepers' attempting to 'censor all of their political opponents' 1 week ago:
So he’s politicising child abuse material now, and associating it with the political right. He’s not incorrect, but it seems like he needs to think before he opens his idiot mouth.
- Comment on Microsoft Office has been renamed to “Microsoft 365 Copilot app” 2 weeks ago:
I think it was the verge. . . But a quick search yields mixed results. I dunno, honestly!
- Comment on Microsoft Office has been renamed to “Microsoft 365 Copilot app” 2 weeks ago:
If it’s true, it seems like a crazy idea. Whether you like office or not, it’s a known brand and people have been using it for a long time. Throwing away that name recognition has to be a bad idea, especially as many people are increasingly resentful at having AI shit forced down their throats.
- Comment on AI-Induced RAM Crunch Could Push Next PlayStation and Xbox Past 2028 3 weeks ago:
Doesn’t that rely on everyone having a fast internet connection with a high data cap? That’s not the case for a lot of people
- Comment on 1 month ago:
Hey that looks good actually. Wishlisted it for when I have more time.

No, really it was a large slug. And TBF Mortimer is a great name for a slug.
- Comment on Settings you believe ANY game should have? (This is me advocating for a restart/reboot button on ALL games) 1 month ago:
Yeah, the steam deck does this, it’s a great feature.
- Comment on An entire PS5 now costs less than 64GB of DDR5 memory, even after a discount — simple memory kit jumps to $600 due to DRAM shortage, and it's expected to get worse into 2026 1 month ago:
Yeah, pencil and paper is back!

You’re saying I should take the jumper cables off the - uh, the guests in my basement? TBF the screams are aggravating, and my electricity bills don’t seem any lower.

Didn’t he buy a massive yacht on the same day steam announced these products? It can’t be easy to sneak a superyacht under the publicity radar, but he seems to have pretty much managed it.
- Comment on Gaming Laptop with Linux Preinstalled and 32GB+ RAM? 2 months ago:
Yeah I have a gaming laptop and I haven’t used it since I got a steam deck.
- Comment on A weaseetlduclob fights a salamander gang and grows ever more horrifying in abomination evolver Strange Seed 2 months ago:
I didn’t know ‘abomination evolver’ was a game category but it sounds great!
- Comment on Godot Engine – 2025 Showreel 2 months ago:
That looks pretty versatile. I guess people are still wary of unity after they shit the bed a couple of years back? This seems like a plausible alternative.
- Comment on Breakthrough gel can regenerate tooth enamel within weeks 2 months ago:
Given the state of my teeth, I’m not far from that anyway.
- Comment on Square Enix says it wants generative AI to be doing 70% of its QA and debugging by the end of 2027 2 months ago:
Market gardening isn’t so bad, people gotta eat. But yeah, if you’re cutting lawns you’re going to suffer when the economy shits the bed.

GTA Bangkok you’d be stuck in traffic the whole time. The tuk tuks would be cool though.
- Comment on Death of beloved neighborhood cat sparks outrage against robotaxis in San Francisco 2 months ago:
I’ve had several times a cat has run out in the road in front of my car, and would have gone under if I hadn’t stopped quickly. Happily I’ve not hit one, few close calls though.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
Are there enough users here to make that worthwhile?
- Comment on If AI was all it was cracked up to be, it wouldn't be shoved in your face 24/7 2 months ago:
Yeah, we aren’t all crouching naked in a muddy puddle, weeping and eating worms while the rich fly high above us in luxurious jets. Not yet, anyway.
- Comment on If AI was all it was cracked up to be, it wouldn't be shoved in your face 24/7 2 months ago:
Yeah, some of the things AI can do really is very impressive. Whether that justifies the billions upon billions that are being spent is another matter - and probably explains why it’s being shoved in our faces. It needs to become essential so it can be made expensive, that’s the only way it’ll make the money back.
It does piss me off too - I recently bought a new phone and it’s infested with AI stuff I don’t need or want.

Amazon eliminated side loading? I’ve been using calibre to convert books to azw and transfer to my Kindle. Always worked fine for me. Unless they pushed out an update to break this?
- Comment on Did it really used to be common for guys to go to a bar every night like in Cheers or The Simpsons? 2 months ago:
I live in England, but maybe twenty years ago I’d go to my regular pub most days, have a couple of pints and maybe some food, socialise with people I’d got to know there.
Obviously that doesn’t happen anymore, it’s way too expensive now. Going to the pub or out for a meal is a rare treat these days.
- Comment on Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors 3 months ago:
I had a song intermittently stuck in my head for over a decade, couldn’t remember the artist, song name, or any of the lyrics. I only had the genre, language it was in, and a vague, memory-degraded description of a music video. Over the years I’d tried to find it on search engines a bunch of times to no avail, using every prompt I could think of. ChatGPT got it in one. So yeah, it’s very useful for stuff like that. Was a great feeling to scratch that itch after so long. But I wouldn’t trust an LLM with anything important.
- Comment on Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors 3 months ago:
I’m surprised no-one has asked an LLM to produce a plausible version and just released that, claiming it’s a leak.
- Comment on Climate goals go up in smoke as US datacenters turn to coal 3 months ago:
