Good on you for using grapheneos! But you should always install the software you want anyway. You don’t need google photos. You can install a different launcher etc. Don’t become complacent and go with the setting out of the box. That’s the reason tech turned into shit. Consumers don’t care for it anymore.
I must admit however, that the launcher market has turned to shit though. There used to be so many more cool options to choose from.

That’s what clothes are for? Don’t fault the tech if you don’t know how to use it.
- Comment on Tesla sales plunge 40% in Europe as Chinese EV rival BYD's triple 2 weeks ago:
The tech is flawed? Bicycles are the most efficient mode of transportation bar none. E-Bikes just have a very efficient motor slapped onto them. It’s not the tech. I also don’t believe it’s the climate because I know for a fact that more and more people are commuting in the Philippines. If they can do it in 37 °C heat at 99% humidity, then so can you.
That said, infrastructure is the biggest flaw. And that’s something that can be changed within a couple of years, as long as people are willing to do so. The Netherlands were a car-brain shit hole in the 70s, and they made a 180 and live in fucking paradise.
Of course there are many things that absolutely require a car, but groceries isn’t one of those, unless you live in the soulless suburban sprawl that you see so often in the USA.
- Comment on Tesla sales plunge 40% in Europe as Chinese EV rival BYD's triple 2 weeks ago:
Ok? I bought my E-Bike 8 years ago for 1500€ and use two roller bags and grab a bit of groceries on my way back from work. It’s a 10km commute one way, so a total of 20km. It takes me a grand total of 26 minutes to get to work. The car usually takes longer due to traffic.
I mean, it’s nice having a PHEV for bigger tasks but we (family of 3) only have one car. We do plenty with our E-Bikes.

Ignorance is bliss I guess? New cars are pretty much computers on wheels that collect data. This is not a secret or anything.
I mean, fuck China and the genocide of the Uighur. It’s terrible. But I’m pretty confident that capitalism killed a whole lot more people throughout history.

Audi is full of shit. Don’t chalk that pile of garbage up with Mercedes.
But, Toyota is easily better than any German brand. The reason why this just is garbage, is because Honda isn’t on top of the list.
- Comment on Florida sues some of the biggest porn platforms, accusing them of not complying with the state's age verification law 5 weeks ago:
In most cases it’s actually not hereditary, for some it is however. But in most cases, it’s related to mental disease. Lack of impulse control due to ADHD or depression for example. I went through that, finally on medication for 2 months now and I finally have the headspace to lose weight. And I agree with you, that losing weight works wonders on your health. But it isn’t as easy as you make it out to be.
Social status is also one of those things, especially in countries that are riddled with the cancer that is capitalism. Unhealthy food often is way cheaper than healthy food. Plus, poor people often work 2-3 jobs. They don’t have time to cook healthy meals.

Hey, it’s cool if you didn’t like it. I just think there’s tons of hilarious things going on. The whole setting appears very bleak and surreal, but there’s some really funny things in the game. I think it’s a good balance to be honest.
4 hours really doesn’t get you far. You don’t even get a feeling for the world in that little time. But you’ve watched YouTube videos on the game, so I guess it’s just not for you.
I grew up with British humor, so it’s kind of weird to hear that dark humor isn’t mainstream, lol.

- Comment on Old gamers don't understand what mobile gaming has become 2 months ago:
Please don’t get me wrong. I’m sure you’re a loving parent and just want what’s best for your daughter. But what you’re essentially doing, is giving your kid pocket money to go play slot machines at the local dive bar.
The reason why mobile phone gaming is so bad, is because there are barely any actual games. The reason your daughter thinks it’s fun to play candy crush is not because the game itself is good, it’s because the game makes her addicted to it. This is bad. Really bad. This will have consequences on how her brain handles dopamine. Please, for the love of your family, get her off that shit immediately.

They pay the windfarms when too much power is generated for the grid to handle. The wind turbines are then throttled accordingly and the windfarm owners are reimbursed for the lost potential. At least that’s how it goes in Germany. It’s kind of an incentive to upgrade the power grid.

I’m just saying, that it is a problem and unless you’re fascist yourself, it is also your problem. Banning phones is ridiculous and will never go through anyway.
By the way, the internet is a billion times more efficient in spreading propaganda than anything we’ve ever seen before. Something needs to be done. Banning phones is not the solution though.
