- Comment on Samsung phones can survive twice as many charges as Pixel and iPhone, according to EU data 1 week ago:
They made it very clear that they’ll continue. It’s just a bit harder now. Plus, they’ll fast track their own hardware now.
- Comment on Old gamers don't understand what mobile gaming has become 1 week ago:
Please don’t get me wrong. I’m sure you’re a loving parent and just want what’s best for your daughter. But what you’re essentially doing, is giving your kid pocket money to go play slot machines at the local dive bar.
The reason why mobile phone gaming is so bad, is because there are barely any actual games. The reason your daughter thinks it’s fun to play candy crush is not because the game itself is good, it’s because the game makes her addicted to it. This is bad. Really bad. This will have consequences on how her brain handles dopamine. Please, for the love of your family, get her off that shit immediately.

Or you can simply cough up the money and pay for one of the best games ever made?

I filled in all the fields and it keeps telling me “Field required”. I’ll try it later when I’m at my desktop PC.
- Comment on Last year China generated almost 3 times as much solar power as the EU did, and it's close to overtaking all OECD countries put together (whose combined population is 1.38 billion people) 2 weeks ago:
They pay the windfarms when too much power is generated for the grid to handle. The wind turbines are then throttled accordingly and the windfarm owners are reimbursed for the lost potential. At least that’s how it goes in Germany. It’s kind of an incentive to upgrade the power grid.

I didn’t down vote you, but Discord is a huge offender regarding enshittification of the internet. Reddit might even be worse.
- Comment on The "standard" car charger is usually overkill—but your electrician might not know that [32:26] 3 weeks ago:
I’m not afraid of that at all. But if you draw shit tons of power from a crappy socket, things start to heat up real quick. Like getting really fucking hot, as in burn your house down hot.

Same here. NV was pretty boring to me while FO3 was actually fun.

Harold Faltermeyer made some nice music for the game. Opala is still stuck in my head.
- Comment on For All That Is Good About Humankind, Ban Smartphones 4 weeks ago:
I’m just saying, that it is a problem and unless you’re fascist yourself, it is also your problem. Banning phones is ridiculous and will never go through anyway.
By the way, the internet is a billion times more efficient in spreading propaganda than anything we’ve ever seen before. Something needs to be done. Banning phones is not the solution though.
- Comment on For All That Is Good About Humankind, Ban Smartphones 4 weeks ago:
Pocket PCs were a thing. I loved them.
- Comment on For All That Is Good About Humankind, Ban Smartphones 4 weeks ago:
The rise of fascists isn’t your problem? Believe it or not, they’d never be this strong if it weren’t for brainwashing the masses via smartphones.

I think it’s back to just SmartTube. SmartTubeNext was a temporary thing to get SmartTube back on track iirc.

It’s not. Alphabet is already making billions off our data. Just use uBlock or ReVanced or whatever and don’t shovel more money into their greedy pockets.

Yeah, because killing a huge fucking seagull in front of kids is a totally normal thing to do.
- Comment on AOSP isn't dead, but Google just landed a huge blow to custom ROM developers 4 weeks ago:
We had those, they were called Pocket PCs. I too want them back. I loved the Dell Axim x51v. A tablet does the job, but it’s the same shitty OS.
- Comment on YouTube relaxes moderation rules to allow more controversial content. Videos are allowed if "freedom of expression value may outweigh harm risk" 5 weeks ago:
It’s likely going to be selective censorship, i.e. Nazi cunts stay, criticism of said Nazi cunts will go.

No revanced on iOS either. That alone disqualifies iPhones.
- Comment on A Researcher Figured Out How to Reveal Any Phone Number Linked to a Google Account 5 weeks ago:
Or, how about they fuck off and leave me alone with my private data? I don’t want to have to lag for something that should be an irrevocable right.
Even if you completely degoogle and whatnot, these cunts will still get hold of your data one way or the other. Its sickening.
- Comment on AI is rotting your brain and making you stupid 1 month ago:
I know it had always been there. But social media has made it so much more efficient. It’s hard to compare it with traditional media.
- Comment on AI is rotting your brain and making you stupid 1 month ago:
It definitely is the enabler though. Without social media, propaganda could never have spread as fast. And it also brought together every village idiot. I know of simpleminded people who never uttered a racist word in their lives before. Now all they talk about is how the AfD will save Germany from the brown people. This is literally brainwashing. So I stand by my comment that social media is the cause of all this.
- Comment on AI is rotting your brain and making you stupid 1 month ago:
Social media lead to things like maga and the ruse of Nazis in Europe. It’s not necessarily tech itself that is making us dumb, it’s reeling people in through simplicity, then making them addicted to it and ultimately exploiting this.

Anki is free. If you need gamification, then perhaps memrize is for you. I’d just go with anki though. Ankidroid is a good app to work with the anki decks.
- Comment on The World's First Mass-Produced Flying Car Is Here and It Costs $1 Million 1 month ago:
I still don’t get how these companies keep getting funded. There’s literally no way these things will ever become a thing. It’s simply ridiculous.
- Comment on $80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen" 1 month ago:
I can barely justify 50€ for a massive game like Baldur’s Gate 3. I’d never pay that much for any other game that is not on this scale. But 80 bucks? The fuck are they thinking?
- Comment on Avoiding AI is hard – but our freedom to opt out must be protected 1 month ago:
Yeah, here we are. The majority of humanity addicted to social media, being brainwashed by far-right assholes into voting for Nazis. That worked out really well, didn’t it?
