This is the best time for you to start reading about lower back pain and how to take care of your spine

Also a good time to give up vanity for comfort. Wear flipflops with socks. Buy a travel squatty potty and take it everywhere in its branded bag.

Don’t forget those knees! I miss not being in constant pain.

My brain broke a bit the first moment I realized that, if I had a kid the same age my mom had me (early 20s), that child would be over 21.
hansolo@lemm.ee 1 month ago
Yeah, doing a same parallel tracking, I would have a 13 year old. shudder
ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 1 month ago
While I’m not old enough to have a 25 year old kid yet I do think my 30’s have been better so far than my 20’s were!

Haha, yeah.

Ok let’s trade ages. All take being 25 and you get to be 40.
quoll@lemmy.sdf.org 1 month ago
honestly 25 to late 30s is the best.
your an adult that can do whatever the fuck you want, not give a fuck what other ppl think and your body is still invincible.

Me except I’ll be 28 in 2 months. People constantly remind me how I’m getting closer to 30.
Like stop pls. I didn’t sign up for this whole aging thing and it sucks
ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Eh, I’m actually in my 30’s. It’s quite nice!

30s is the best decade tbh, anyone who says otherwise is a government spy
Drekaridill@feddit.is 1 month ago
I was so nervous about turning 30. The thing is that nothing happens when you do, except you’re no longer nervous about turning 30. It was honestly kinda freeing to just get it over with.

I’m in my 50’s and I want to be 25 years old.
Almacca@aussie.zone 1 month ago
I’m in my fifties too, but look back on 25 year old me and see a fucking idiot. I know it’s true because I’m a lot smarter now, but still a fucking idiot. I wouldn’t mind a 25 years old spine, though.
MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Yes but it was a blissful kind of fucking idiocy.
bampop@lemmy.world 1 month ago
These kids don’t even know when they’ve got it good. I mean, even being in your 40s isn’t that bad
MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 month ago
Just remember in the US these days 36 is middle age.
JustAnotherRando@lemmy.world 1 month ago
The optimal age is 28. It’s late enough that you may at least be hitting a stride professionally (though don’t stress too much if you’re not), you’ve chilled out a bit from your earlier 20’s, and your body (generally) hasn’t begun to betray you yet.
exasperation@lemm.ee 1 month ago
25-35 is a great time. I moved cities and changed careers in my late 20’s, and pivoted again in my early 30’s, and it was a good reset to build on lessons learned and undoing past mistakes, while having the youth and energy to really enjoy myself and actually choose a path I was going to have fun with.
I’m enjoying my 40’s a lot, but I look back fondly on that 25-35 period as being both fun in itself and setting me up for a good 30’s and 40’s (and possibly further).
Almacca@aussie.zone 1 month ago
The ‘optimal’ age is whatever age you are right now, no matter what state you’re in, and I’m a miserable old bastard. Otherwise, apart from that one moment, you’re always living with either hope or regret.

oppy1984@lemm.ee 1 month ago
41 here, I was there too. It’s not that bad, just take care of yourself now. At your age I ate fast food, never exercised, and basically lived on caffeine, nicotine, and stress endorphins from working all the time. Now at my last check up, I’m overweight, my knees are shot, my back hurts all the time, and I have chronic acid reflux.
You are young enough that you can get a head start on aging, what you should do daily is exercise, eat healthy, and take some personal time/mental health time for yourself everyday to reduce stress. You don’t want to end up like me and be facing a huge uphill battle to get healthy.
Whateley@lemm.ee 1 month ago
I remember 25. I still felt alive and didn’t have chronic pain randomly appearing in various parts of my body.

wait until you are at your 40s and things take about 10x more time to heal

SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 month ago
As you grow you will keep appreciating the growing amounts of personal development
Eventually you think back to when you were worried about turning 25 and you’ll think “why would I ever wanna be 25 again? I had so much less knowledge and experience back then”
henfredemars@infosec.pub 1 month ago
On the bright side, I’m happy to report that I care a lot less the older I get.
