I really hate it when corporate Twitter accounts try to be quirky. Wendy’s trolling McDonald’s was funny for a bit but even that got old and I blame it for making this sort of thing common.
blarghly@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
They realized that cringe increases engagement via hate-sharing.

I don’t think any video game character YELLS their active effects at us…

So… my phone was out of battery, so I pulled out my power bank and connected to my phone, then I instinctively said, loudly:
“BOMB PLANTED”
Now the entire plane is staring at me like I’m some sort of criminal.

No wonder airport guards started to break into the toilet after I gave birth to a fist-wide log screaming the same in a sudden mix of terror and glee.

Parody account
…Basically indistinguishable from any regular Twitter account. Why did Elon want these accounts labeled, again?
jaybone@lemmy.zip 21 hours ago
What exactly is it supposed to be a parody of?
Just because someone uses it to try to be funny, does not make it parody. It doesn’t make it sarcasm. It doesn’t make it ironic. People love to use all of those incorrectly.
sowitzer@lemm.ee 15 hours ago
That’s a lot of schadenfreude you have there. Maybe work on your cultural literacy.
lud@lemm.ee 16 hours ago
Rick Ashley I assume.
I guess they were a parody account of him earlier but they changed their mind later.

You know why

Ever since the 80’s, I can’t close my eyes without seeing falling tetriminos 😔

I can almost see the grey face of the marketing intern shuffling out of another pointless meeting to write this, debating whether their health insurance would cover jumping out of the building window.
Serinus@lemmy.world 23 hours ago
They tried to say this wouldn’t work, but Bob the PM thinks its great and has ordered you to put it through. His only concession to your warning was “well, add an ‘lol’ or something to make it sound gamery”.
prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 day ago
This is the real reason they’re so obsessed with AI…

And fire the intern and let them die uninsured.

No. But I do sing the victory fanfare tune from final fantasy every time I do some small thing. Wash dishes? Victory! Laundry? Victory! Cook dinner? Victory! Take a shot? Victory!
Tattorack@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
Oh. Oh I’m not the only one. I’m not even an avid FF player; I just played some of the remakes on DS.
The victory tune is burned into my brain, as well as the Chocobo theme.
Dreaming_Novaling@lemmy.zip 15 hours ago
Ohhhh man I love the Chocobo Theme, and have also played like zero FF games besides XV, which was dogshit. But one of the teammates sings this cute little in-game ad jingle that uses the Chocobo theme, so I hear him singing it in my head every now and then.

That’s lame as fuck dude
ArtemisimetrA@lemm.ee 21 hours ago
Feel free to keep your soggy opinion to yourself
GenerationII@lemm.ee 18 hours ago
I’m curious as to why you think it’s “lame as fuck”. Does it harm you? Does it harm them? Does it fucking harm anybody? Does it just seem like a quickly little weird thing that you don’t do but others might? One of those answers is correct
pishadoot@sh.itjust.works 15 hours ago
Haters on here but yeah, it’s lame.
TheRealLinga@sh.itjust.works 21 hours ago
This is awesome. I still remember that tune from when I played it. Funny how some people think positivity and imagination aren’t excellent things. You keep doing you! And I’m definitely going to be copying your idea!
psx_crab@lemmy.zip 13 hours ago
Ok, if you have a lot of dishes to wash by hand, you deserve a fucking fanfare from final fantasy. That shit is hardwork.

10 health from dinner? Unless my max health is like, 40 or less that’s just rude.
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 1 day ago
TFW someone posts “don’t be evil” but censors out the author credit of the clever post.
ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I didn’t find the original. I’m glad you did, I’ll edit the post!
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
Very cool of you! Thanks.

I take “Thing that didn’t happen” for 500, Alex.
original_reader@lemm.ee 1 day ago
For a proper plate of pasta you should at least get +40. If you cooked it yourself maybe even +1 skill point. If you fed someone, “you are now friends”.

How much I missed this. The brands are gaining too much confidence again, we gotta start bullying them

We do, regularly. Especially here!
