So, you are saying I should ask my representatives to focus more on achieving homelessnesslessness?

If everyone in a town has a house, could you say that town is homelessnessless?
- Comment on YSK: Using dairy milk after being tear gassed or pepper sprayed doesn't provide more relief and has slightly increased infection risk. Use water or saline instead 1 week ago:
Not really, no. It was more a tongue-in-cheek comment than an actual suggestion.
- Comment on YSK: Using dairy milk after being tear gassed or pepper sprayed doesn't provide more relief and has slightly increased infection risk. Use water or saline instead 1 week ago:
Nitpicking: the fermentation is done by a fungus, specifically a yeast strain. The fermentation process stops when you introduce oxygen, aka open the fermentation tank, or when the sugar in the wort is depleted. The yeast then just becomes inactive and you can potentially restart the fermentation at home by putting sugar in the beer and sealing it airtight. Most commercial beers remove the yeast through filtering or pasteurizing or both tho, so that would probably only work for craft beer. And it would make the result taste terrible I assume.
Some bacteria do not tolerate alcohol at all and will die from beer, but generally beer is not a disinfectant. Vodka isn’t either by the way, still too low levels of alcohol. But it works better than beer.

Beer doesn’t have a high enough alcohol volume level to be a disinfectant (recommended is 70+% ethanol, beer has 4-5%), just high enough so the fermenting process comes to a halt by inactivating the bacteria causing it.

They should try beer. Capsaicin is not soluble in water, but it is in ethanol. I don’t think it will help relieve the irritated membranes tho.

Never, ever disclose that you are not a level 5 vegan or else they will scream at you while pretending that you are the problem.

Health food is anything that isn’t processed to hell and back.
Impossible is just alternative junk food. Like vapes are for cigarettes. Healthier still means crap. I’d probably just use mushrooms or tofu as a patty if I wanted an alternative to beef.

Oh god, this reminds me of a cringe mistake just after I was getting my license. I was driving up to a crosswalk and there was a kid standing next to, maybe 8 or 9, holding their hand out. You know, just like they learn at school that they should do that to make it clear they want to cross even tho the car is supposed to stop anyway. I saw this and what did I do? I thought the kid waved at me and my new license, so I just drove past and waved back. What the fuck, brain?

Do a Child of Atom playthrough, if you haven’t already.
Rush to Far Harbor and acquire the Robes of Atom’s Devoted and end the DLC by destroying FH for the perk. Wear the robes, get irradiated until almost dead (above 900 rads) and congratulations, you now deal double damage, are immune to radiation and ignore the effects of rads on your HP bar.

Just like those “we value your privacy” cookie banners that don’t give you the option to reject all. If they truly valued my privacy, they would give me that option instead of having me toggle off 500000 “partners” one by one in the hopes I accidentally skip one. Bastards.

I don’t get ads in general. They don’t work. I never bought something that got presented to me from an ad because I know ads are deliberately lying to me, so the product they show is the first product I don’t consider purchasing.

They won’t learn anything. They only nulled their bullshit because it would hurt their financial quarter because their biggest cash cow game at the moment is bombing. They only way to maybe make them learn would be if every single one of the “outraged gamers” would just uninstall and never play it again, but that won’t happen and Sony knows that (which is why they can try pulling that shit in the first place).
Good for the peeps in non-PSN countries tho. For them, this is a real win.

- Comment on I have amblyopia. Is this accurate? 1 month ago:
I had amblyopia as a kid because one of my eye muscles didn’t develop properly, so there was an imbalance leading to a lazy eye. I had to get surgery to correct that, but it was past the time window when proper depth perception is developed (until about 7 years of age, got my surgery with 9). So yeah, my vision is kinda like yours.
Even with the lazy eye gone, I only use my stronger eye to look through binoculars, dunno why. But I’m also myopic in the right eye and hyperopic in the left, so maybe that has something to do with it.
- Comment on With two Boeing whistleblowers dead in one month, either Boeing is actively killing them, or there are enough whistleblowers that this rate of death is not statistically significant 1 month ago:
Didn’t the iPod have the same “issue” that it sometimes played the same song twice in a row or randomly played the next song in the playlist?
You essentially did what Apple did and made the randomness less random so humans think it’s more random.

The probability of 2 people having the same birthday is 1 in 365 because it’s the same as picking person A’s birthday as a specific day in the year and checking whether person B has their birthday on that date.
Now, the reason the number is so low is that you are basically comparing pairs and with 23 people there are 253 different pairings (23 choose 2 or
22*23/2
). With each pair having a 1/365 chance to have the same birthday and having 253 distinct pairs, you would have to fail a 1/365 check 253 times in a row. The formula you can use for the success rate is1 - (1-p)^x
with p being the probability and x the number of trials, so in this case1 - (1 - 1/365)^253 = 0.5004

- Comment on Instagram Advertises Nonconsensual AI Nude Apps 2 months ago:
The other day, I had an app on facebook that was basically lolicon. It depicted a clearly underage anime girl in a sexually suggestive position on a motorcycle with their panties almost off. I am in Germany, Facebook knows I am in Germany and if I took a screenshot of that ad and saved it, it would probably be classed as CSAM in my jurisdiction. I reported the ad and got informed that FB found “nothing wrong” with it a few days later. Fuck off, you child predators.

Opinion: “Personalized ads” are a ruse and don’t actually work better than regular ads. They only have a higher click-through rate because they are more often disguised as normal content on the platform and people are simply being tricked into clicking on them.

Most infection can survive the minor temperature rise. The more tangible reason is that the rise in temperature signals phagocytes that it’s dinner time. Also it helps mobilizing white blood cells and increases the production of T-cells.
