  i can confirm that pokémon is normal and lets you have multiple switch accounts with multiple saves on one console. which is actually a big improvement, because pokémon never let you have multiple saves on one cartridge, so on older consoles you did have to buy multiple cartridges! (thankfully you could share the console because the save was on the cartridge, not the console)

  on switch, animal crossing is the only game i can think of where there’s only one save per console. and even then, i think they added save slots in the latest update

  5 years later… meh. better late than never i guess.

  as for framework, they sent him hardware for the development of omarchy, that’s what sparked the controversy (as well as their funding of hyprland). as for their response to the controversy, beyond their original “big tent” post, they locked the thread on their forum where they were called out, they banned the topic from being discussed in other threads, they purged posts about the controversy on their subreddit, they seem to have left mastodon (where a lot of people called them out) to post exclusively on twitter now, their CEO made a post (on twitter) about how he’s a big progressive guy actually, but he refused to denounce white supremacy or DHH. and now they’re giving more money to the guy, and they still fund hyprland.

  idk if they’re being naive or complicit, but either way i want nothing to do with them anymore.

Whenever this happened, some of the audience would clap and cheer, I’d roll my eyes, and the talk would get back on topic. Fast-forward to today, and look at how many people in our industry are openly celebrating the murder of someone they decided was a “nazi” and “fascist”. Turns out these people were more serious than I thought. As someone who’s repeatedly been called a “nazi” and “fascist” myself for disagreements with far-left ideology, I know how easily those labels get thrown around. And honestly, this is making me seriously reconsider which conferences I attend. There’s a hateful rot within our industry. It shouldn’t be socially acceptable to cheer for murder. We need to do more than roll our eyes.
