Give me a clicky pen or give me death!

No zebra? Guess I’m never writing again.

    7, easy spitball shooter

It’s 2 for me, always so reliable and write very clean

Is there a difference between #1 and #2?

Please answer fast, I am sitting on the urinal.

    5

I once bought a pack of maybe 40 number 7 in all 4 colors, I am basically committed for life.

But these fuckers dry out if you don’t use them for a long time, I had to throw away a bunch. I tried receiving some by soaking them in Isopropyl alcohol, it worked for some but not all.

I’m lamenting the fact that this scenario means I’ve lost all my fountain pens, but I’d go with #5 in a .38

I’ve written on Cross since middle school (1980s)…

When I was a server, I only used Number 3, but it has to be the 0.5 size. 0.7 still smears too much.

Probably 2, 6, or 7. I’ve always loved the V5/V7, but the liquid ink is messy, a bic is a classic for a reason, and the PaperMate flair has been my go-to felt-tip for a long time now. Though, the ultra-fine version is much better for writing than the medium one.

  • EvilBit@lemmy.world ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

If 6 is the Papermate felt tip, then that one. I like the static tip. Otherwise, probably the upstart Sharpie.

The Japanese uni-ball pens are sweet, don’t think they are on this.

    • Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

Pretty sure both 1 and 2 are jp and good

      source
      • CherryBullets@lemmy.ca ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

I was using whatever pens I could get before I found the JP pens. Now when I see one, I have to get it. The writing feels as though it glides like a brush over the paper.

Besides that, not sure why people say they explode on them, mine are indestructable. I write and draw with a very heavy hand and they stay rock solid. Pretty good pick for heavy handed people.

Where is my Sakura 03 micron??? 🥲

  • Nalivai@lemmy.world ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

3 or 5 was always my goto. That being said, I didn’t have to write anything by hand in the last 15 years, and I’m pretty much forgot how it’s done

7 all day. Bic for life

    source
    • SkyezOpen@lemmy.world ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

I love Bic but those particular ones have never done well for me.

  • Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

    All of these suck.

  • A7thStone@lemmy.world ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

What, no papermate inkjoy? Cheaper than G2s and they fit better in your hand, unless you are gripping it with clubs.

  • carpelbridgesyndrome@sh.itjust.works ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

I have an entire note taking program calibrated around the ink colors of 5. I kinda dug myself that grave though. They are at least decent pens.

  • Kolanaki@pawb.social ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

The good ol’ BIC G2. Phat fucking lines, I’ve never had one clog, they’re comfortable to hold and fun to take apart and put back together again while you pretend it’s a gun.

    Another vote for 5, 0.7

Like those Zebra Sarasas, the blue ones are perfect

    Pilot G-Knock 1.0. G2 barring that.

The real solution is to find a parker compatible chassis that has the right shape, feel, and weight for your preferences. Then simply buy parker refills of your choice. Energel .5 is pretty great :)

#5, but you tear off the clip. EVERY TIME.

    • Peppycito@sh.itjust.works ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

I do that with sharpies so I can get them in and out of my back pocket easily.

  • InFerNo@lemmy.ml ⁨3⁩ ⁨months⁩ ago

I use a Lamy Studio to write, so close to a 6.

Also in my arsenal is a Parker Jotter and a Moonman C1.

    1. Fisher space pen

I keep one at my desk and have one in my pocket (most of the time).

I’ve had the bullet version on me at all times for the last decade or so. Fits in my coin pocket of my jeans perfectly.

    1. It’s basically the only kind of pen I use anyway.

If I had to choose one of these, 4. (I can’t see a whole lot of detail in the image. Looks like a Uniball.)

But my preference is my Uniball Signo click pen, with micro tip. Love that precision. No cap for me to lose. And I will lose it.
