- Comment on Is it safe to assume the guy i went out on a date with, just wants to sleep with me? 1 week ago:
I understand this makes you unsure, but I really think this would be a perfectly normal question to him: “Hey, I really enjoy your company, but I have noticed in the past with other Japanese friends that they sometimes have mistaken a hug for me asking for more. How do you see that?”
Especially with him being an older guy (which generally means a bit less insecure and more mature) I would expect this to be a good start for an honest conversation.
I hope it does work out the way you want!

Might sound like a crazy take, but if you just make sure you (only) do what you want and are clear about your intentions towards him, you should be fine.
If you want to have a drink from some casual company until you leave - do that.
If you want some steamy sexy time for one night and then leave - again, do that.
If you really like the guy and might actually consider some sort of longer relationship - guess what, do that.
Just be clear and honest, towards him and yourself.

I don’t really want to be filmed everywhere, especially when it’s later on broadcasted to the entire world. I want to be able to do stupid stuff without other people knowing.

Still better than using the same password everywhere and/or saving passwords in an unencrypted text file on your computer somewhere.
Just not very user friendly.

You’re right, I’ll retract the recommendation 😉

I met my partner on an app and would not have met them otherwise. It can be a great way to meet interesting people.
I would recommend trying a few and finding one that fits your interests/people in your area use.
Also investigate what the apps do with your data. You are sharing some very personal/sensitive data with them. Make sure they take godo care of it.
I personally like Feeld, because it is great for different kinds of relationships and that fits me well, as well as they seem to take care of my data.

You can’t hold 6 year old kids accountable for stupid stuff they do. I totally understand your feelings, but the best thing you can do is just be a nice person. So take care of others, but also of yourself. Only give when you have something to give, but also only take what you really need. The hurt and shame might stay, but try to nourish it. Us it as inspiration for being a good person from now on. Feed it with more self-punishment and it will only get heavier, like a stone arouns your neck that’s growing and pulling you under. Nobody will be happier when you drown, so don’t. Just do your best, that’s all you can do ❤️

It’s not much different from how humanity learned things. Always verify your sources and re-execute experiments to verify their result.

Speak up, tell people what you think and why.
If that doesn’t work: something was added to your constitution for this situation, the second amendment. You can use your six shooter to go up to the government’s tank and gunships. Good luck.

Because old people die soon, so it’s difficult to really mess stuff up. It’s like an automatic failsafe.

No because once outside of the US people realise the country is shit and they don’t want to come back anymore, so this will not work sadly enough.

Linux. For desktops I like it as well, but I can understand some arguments against it. However, for all other cases there is hardly any match. The internet basically runs on it.

With that logic we should give everyone a nuclear bomb and teach them not to press the button. Let’s see how that works out.
Big tegh companies spend billions on ways to influence your behaviour, making it even difficult for adults to not fall for their traps, let alone kids with still very much underdeveloped brains. Just look at all the stupid things you had done when you were a kid.
- Comment on Honey 9 months ago:
My point is that there is no real way to explain what “vegan” really is, since it means different things to different people and all of these people have the best intentions.
So my point actually is, instead of focussing on what to call “vegan” and what not, the discussion should be about bees.
For instance, do they care if you take their honey? Are they harmed? And should I care about whether they are harmed?
- Comment on Honey 9 months ago:
True. Though marketing is a cancer in itself. But I guess that’s a different discussion 😬
- Comment on Honey 9 months ago:
Stupid discussion. It does not matter whether something is in the box “vegan”. Ask yourself why you would or would not eat something. If you don’t want to eat(/drink) dairy because of the way the animals that produce the dairy are treated, would you be ok when they are treated differently? Are bees treated in the same way? Does it matter if you treat them in this way? Those should be your questions, not “does it belong in this box?”.
- Comment on Why does the media print rags to riches stories? 10 months ago:
Indeed, instead of what they need. It’s like only giving sugar to your kid to eat instead of vegetables, because that’s what they “want”. Oh wait that’s actually what happens as well
- Comment on Why does the media print rags to riches stories? 10 months ago:
People like to read those stories because it gives them hope it also happens to them. Media print stories that you want to read, that’s how they make money.
Other stories people like to read: how to world is going to shit (evolutionairy important to prepare to survive), what someone that’s familiar to you did (evolutionary important to be social to work together to survive), stories about how someone else did something stupid (complaining about that toghether gives yoh a sense of belonging) and stories about how a pet cat was retrieved (tickling that instinct to care for others again).
As you can see, media is looking for stories that tickle your most basic insticts and needs, because they know that’s what you will be interested in, making you read their stories so they can make more money.
Welcome to capitalism, you are the product.
