Probably 1 or 2 would be my style.
3's grip looks the most comfy

Given personal preference for the Uniball Vision Needle (not pictured), I’ll go for 1.
callouscomic@lemm.ee 1 year ago
1 is my choice pen. Always and forever. No other type kept up with me. I use a slightly different variant though.
Nugscree@lemmy.world 1 year ago
The Bic Cristal (number 7) all day long. They last forever, are dirt cheap and are the best selling pen in the world.
srestegosaurio@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 year ago
This. (I actually use the orange ones but the same applies).
hardcoreufo@lemmy.world 1 year ago
But they just disappear into the ether for no reason.

Because the cap is a good coke spoon that’s why
Blackmist@feddit.uk 1 year ago
That’s why I buy them in packs of 50.

5 forever!

If 5 is the G2, then 5.
Thrawne@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Pilot v5 always
AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 1 year ago
It’s 2 for me, always so reliable and write very clean
noisefree@lemmy.world 1 year ago
5, 0.7mm
Crashumbc@lemmy.world 1 year ago
You lost me at the fat tip
noisefree@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Preference aside, I’ve found that most others use the 0.5mm and that that means my pens usually find their way back to me when borrowed. I generally like the way the increased flow feels and don’t experience a difference in control vs the finer tip. That said, the 1.0mm is crazy and feels like I am trying to paint, so I definitely get how others that prefer the finer tip might feel about my preference.

Pilot G-Knock 1.0. G2 barring that.
merc@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
These days I use a pen maybe once a month. I’ve probably used some of these, I vaguely recognize 1 and 7. I use pens so rarely that I don’t really have a preference. I guess if one of them is best for avoiding dried-up ink, that’s the one?
It can’t just be me, right? I don’t use pencils either. I use keyboards, either virtual or physical. Other people must also do virtually all their writing electronically.
To me this is like choosing your favourite buggy whip.

Another for 5

5 for me

I have already chosen. And the one that I have chosen for life is not in this set.

Error: fountain pen not found
roguetrick@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Seriously. This is Lemmy, right? Shouldn’t it be fountain pens, mechanical keyboard, Linux, and automatic watches?

If you’re not using a Uni kuru toga rotating lead pencil are you even living?

5, man I loved those pens when taking notes in college.
TheOakTree@lemm.ee 1 year ago
The real solution is to find a parker compatible chassis that has the right shape, feel, and weight for your preferences. Then simply buy parker refills of your choice. Energel .5 is pretty great :)
prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
5 … but black and in .38
PillBugTheGreat@lemmy.world 1 year ago
#5, but you tear off the clip. EVERY TIME.
Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
I do that with sharpies so I can get them in and out of my back pocket easily.

No fountain pens?
JandroDelSol@lemmy.world 1 year ago
2, the Pilot Precise, specifically a V5
tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 1 year ago
Have you used one recently? I used to love those but they don’t work as well as I remember when I’ve tried them in the past few years
Kamikazimatt@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
This was the only pen I could use as a left handed writer that wouldn’t leave any ink on my hand.
Dop@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I’d go for the Pilot Vball, but close enough.
frog_brawler@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I don’t know the difference between 1 and 2, so I’m going to go with 2. 7 in some instances though.
Donjuanme@lemmy.world 1 year ago
No skilcraft government pen?

When I taught tertiary anatomy to sports science students. The school’s stationary cabinet was a box of lost pens that the cleaners added to. The school wasn’t great. Rather than buy new pens, we were to take from the box. I knew I wasn’t being renewed next year so I came in on the holidays and took every four pen in that box. About fifteen of them. It’s seen me good for for pens for about 13 years now. I still have a bunch kicking around. Mostly green/red left, but I use those to mark my ToDo lists with completed and delayed entries.
Noodle07@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I can only write with friction now, I have ADHD and I often skip letters when writing words so I always have to erase the letter I just wrote. If I’m not using friction it looks horrible
Iron_Lynx@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Ooh, Pilot Frixion, I like those. I did not expect myself to ever be able to get excited about pens, yet here I am.
I love lending out Frixion Clickers out to my DnD friends and seeing them struggle with the click before they realise that the pocket clip is the thing that goes click.

Is there a difference between #1 and #2?
Please answer fast, I am sitting on the urinal.
ramenshaman@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I guess 3. Any of these pens would dry up as soon as I touch it. Graphgear 500 0.9mm drafting pencil for life.
Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I’m the only one going for #4? It’s a uni ball vision elite, and I have about ten refills right now. Have had that barrel for the last fifteen or so years.
tyler@programming.dev 1 year ago
yeah I don’t know how anyone can be voting for #5. it has to be the worst pen on the list. uncomfortable, dries up easily, doesn’t write consistently. #4 is amazing, but they do have one better but it’s not in the picture.
Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I would know if it, if only for curiosity’s sake
lovely_reader@lemmy.world 1 year ago
People must not know. #4 is where it’s at.
clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
Such a great pen. The ink flows so smoothly!
TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 1 year ago
None of those. I exclusively use Pentel Energels. Prior to that it was Uniball Signo. Up your own game OP.
Tedesche@lemmy.world 1 year ago
The G-2 will take EnerGel refills. Best of both worlds IMO.
TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Interesting. I did not know that and may give it a try.
nadiaraven@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Me too, but looking at this pic, if I had to use one of these, it would be 5
