Alternately the left side of it is wedged because of the bannister it’s butted into.
The stairs show a kick pattern and the paint appears broken linearly due to the movement of the carpeting when kicked.
The mattress itself appears to bulge towards the viewer.
It’s all about perspective, that’s the whole point of the picture.
I see evidence for it being at the top, you see evidence for otherwise and lots of folks show how little they’re able to regulate their emotions through simple friendly discussion.
