- Comment on Why don't low birth-rate countries make immigration to their country easier? 19 hours ago:
It’s bigotry. Whether it be racism, or classism, or political, or religious, or whatever. People have endless reasons for wanting to consider others as outsiders or lesser or different.
- Comment on Are there any games you're planning to pick up during the Steam and GOG sales? 23 hours ago:
Plus most sales are the same deal as past sales, and they happen often.
To be honest though, if the price of games kept up with inflation over the decades, then they’d cost like $120-200 today.
- Comment on EVs still have major quality problems, and it’s mostly about the software 2 days ago:
The good news is programming everywhere is garbage.
- Comment on The Steam Summer Sale is live now! 3 days ago:
For Elder Scrolls, I’d recommend giving either Oblivion or Skyrim a whirl, and then after you feel done with one, try the other. In my opinion they are both great for different reasons, and they are different enough to feel like very different games in some ways.
There’s great modding resources too if you’re into that. Even light modding like some QoL upgrades or bug fixes. I’m not talking crazy mods.

- Comment on Phone calls still assume the people on the receiving end are attached to a desk. 4 days ago:
My work gave everyone digital desk phones. The calls come through the computer.
I still barely ever get calls, and the Voicemail go to my email.
- Comment on Steam announces game recording beta. 4 days ago:
Steams custom controller profiles alone used on Steam Deck are killers for me. Nothing else amounts.

New Age of Empires looks dope.
- Comment on Leak suggests a Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date exactly 20 years after the original 2 weeks ago:
Game looks amazing, but the faces for characters just seem wrong. I can’t explain it, but they feel like impostors made by a fan remake in unreal engine.

And then they go and make an idiotic bathroom hand air dryer that is vertical and unnatural to dip hands into and too small of an opening so as to be difficult to not touch it with your clean hands.

I just want to appreciate an argument where both user names check out, considering the stances taken by the “whore” and the “square” per the names.

- Comment on What is the point of Xbox? 1 month ago:
Most of Nintendo’s pre-Switch “consoles” arguably had poor performance-to-price ratios in terms of hardware.
Also, a PC doesn’t have the constraints of a mobile form factor and better cooling and can have better performance without the built in battery and screen. You just argued to me that a PC can be a console.
This all seems arbitrary to argue the differences.

I thought it was because of cars?
I thought it was because of straws?
I thought it was because of private jets?
I thought it was because of deforestation?
I thought it was because of plastic ocean pollution?
I thought it was because of the top major corporations?
I thought it was because of soot ovens in southeast asia?
Seems like I have read that it is predominantly because of everything.

- Comment on With a Nintendo Switch 2 on the way, I hope Valve make a Steam Deck 2 1 month ago:
Why? Steam Deck OLED is already amazing and probably 4 times as powerful and infinitely as flexible with what youre allowed to do with it as Switch 2 will be.

- Comment on WTF Happened In 1971? 2 months ago:
The divergence of productivity and wages coincides with a lot of things, like the rise of the service industry, and tons of deregulation and lower taxes over those decades.

- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
Haven’t seen that analogy in a long time. I used to debate this with people out of curiosity and was horrified at some peoples insistence that destroying some innocent lives is perfectly fine so long as we got all the actual criminals.
I alway bet they’d change their tune if it was THEIR innocent life.
