There’s a fair number that just copy paste without even proof reading…

It was broken before then, the whole distributed user and instances is hard for the average non techy. This is the same issue Linux has. People say “just install Linux” but when the person Google’s it, they get destroyed with 30 plus flavors and don’t understand what to do.

I actually don’t pay much attention to 1 or 5 star reviews. It filters out a lot of useless reviews.
If I do look at one stars, I’m usually just looking for trends of people having specific issues. Or if the overall rank is being dragged down by stupidity. For example I saw like five people leave one star reviews in one weekend because the restaurant was closed due to a water main break…

They can drop the price the day Intel actually puts a chip on the market… They’re capturing maximum profit while they can.

That’s not really true, except at the ultra high end. My 4070 barely draws more than my old 1070. The 4080 draws the same as a 3080 with double the performance.
I would argue water cooling is far less needed today. What has changed is Nvidia selling chips that would have been considered extreme aftermarket overclocking 10 years ago.

I mean technically moores law has been dead for 15 years. The main reason we went to multi-core was we couldn’t keep up otherwise.

- Comment on Switzerland authorizes removable PV plant on railway track 1 month ago:
It’s close though, random shit gets dragged, kicked, dropped, etc all the time by trains.
A chain , cable, or wire comes loose on a car and goodbye panels and like all of them …

You don’t have Ethernet over power do you?
Fun story, I live in a townhome, I had so bizarre network issues going on. Not able to stream to TV etc. finally started unplugging shit. Unplugged the router and saw the computer still happily downloading something WTF! Turns out a neighbor also has Ethernet over power and devices were randomly connecting to their network. Crazy ass shit.
- Comment on Microsoft Edge gets "unfair advantage", browser makers claim 1 month ago:
I’d settle for them being force to offer links to alternatives when you first install Windows.
AND being forced to stop the bullshit every few updates where they force you through choosing options. One of which is “update to recommended browser settings for security?”… Which just defaults the system to use edge.

- Comment on Should i be giving a shit about my posture? 1 month ago:
Ultimately, it depends on the source of the neck pain. But, also it is something free you can do that can only help.
Also too much stress can cause neck shoulder pain. (Which posture can at least help a little)

Most people would have trouble doing 100 pushups at once. But this sounds more like doing push ups everyday for 100 days.

- Comment on Amazon's Monopoly of the tech industry is ruining the US economy 1 month ago:
Funny you mention grocery type items. That’s where I first noticed how bad Amazon can price gouge. Sometimes 3-4 times what the price should be.
- Comment on Amazon's Monopoly of the tech industry is ruining the US economy 1 month ago:
Amazon has very good deals OR very bad ones. I find Microcenter often equal to or even better than Amazon in most tech stuff.
Your experience is exactly why you shouldn’t make sweeping judgement on one data point.
-
Photo paper isn’t really tech. It’s a supply.
-
It’s a low volume niche item.
-
People that are buying it are less likely to care about cost (older) or want it right now. So Microcenter feels they can charge more. (IMO)
