VM the program? I know that seting up a Apple VM is nothing easy but that will allow you to just use you preferred OS and run that program in the VM. I use winboat on my Pop_OS! laptop for some software that really needs Windows and does not work well (at all) in wine. I dislike the we know better that you mentality that comes with buying a Mac. Hell the amount of times the update fubar’ed my system because Apple decided to update software that has nothing to do with the OS is too damn high.

Even worse, it’s costing the food places you order from money. We have a lot of restaurants here that will give you free stuff if you do not use Thuisbezorgd which is owned by Just Eat Takeaway. They also own the American Grubhub since 2021 and are also active in the UK, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands.

There was a time when the swastika was not allowed to be shown in games because of a law in Germany, causing Wolfenstein (the uncencored version) to be banned. Maybe the country in question has similar laws?

Hmm odd it should not take that long, especially with the flatpack. My install picked up the unified receiver near instant, it was only setting up the keys that took a few minutes for the MX Master 3s.
Does it all work now?

Because Fedora and Ubuntu (Debian) have been around for forever? In my experience Arch also feels more like a your on your own kind of Distro which I liked back in the day (build one myself with an online guide), but now I just want my machine to run and function unattended besides the updates.

Well it started with my graphics driver for the AMD RX 6800 XT that cause compositor freezes on Wayland so my panels just froze for no reason, fix -> switch to X11. Browser was hogging an insane amount of cpu to just render Youtube, reason was the hardware video encoder was not enabled, tried to install mesa drivers and you can only do that with rpm-ostree (first breakage of immutable) spend two days debugging and flatpack overwrites to try and fix it to no avail, left it as is. Next wanted NordVPN because I’ve been useing their service for forever, no official flatpack so I needed to use distrobox which is a vm running on my machine with another os in it to run a simple program or use rpm-ostree to install the nordvpn normal linux package (second breakage). Has some issues with getting a network share to work, ended up having to make a script that mounted the drive on boot. My normal Linux distro just used fstab and it worked Next issue installing Bambulabs software, appimage doesn’t work because it depends on gtk, rpm-ostree install number 3, it didn’t take so I gave up after a week of fighting the OS and just installed Fedora KDE Plasma.
- Comment on I spent a year on Linux and forgot to miss Windows 5 weeks ago:
No. Bazzite is pretty good at one thing and that thing is gaming. If you want do anything else and there is no flatpack/appimage for it you’re shit out of luck, unless you want to ostree and thereby breaking the reason for using an immutable distro in the first place. That is the whole reason I tried and switched my main rig over to Fedora 43 KDE so I could at least use a normal package manager.
- Comment on I spent a year on Linux and forgot to miss Windows 5 weeks ago:
For me I got better results if I used the actual distro + version in the search, Linux is to general a term, but say Fedora 43 + problem would really narrow down the amount of results and also prevent really old answers to pop up.

Even some of those work, Helldivers 2 for instance. I usually check protondb.com to make sure if I can run the game if it does not have a native build.

In the mean time you can check on protondb how much of your steam library is compatible with Linux using this link https://www.protondb.com/profile
- You can either link via the Steam api, or if your profile is public paste your profile link into the input.
- Then select the “By ProtonDB rating” and see how much of your current library is compatible.
Of the 474 games I have most are Gold or higher. 2 are Bronze (crashes often), 2 are Borked and 13 are awaiting more data to be rated. 60 even have native clients.

They have been investing in proton heavily to make games work on Linux, most of my library just work out of the box, some with parameters and a very small amount of my 300+ games do not work. So when are you going to get your GabeCube?
- Comment on Microsoft AI CEO pushes back against critics after recent Windows AI backlash — "the fact that people are unimpressed ... is mindblowing to me" 2 months ago:
Because the Steam UI is limited to their software, you would still need a desktop environment and they chose KDE Plasma, if you want you could can customize it to look like anything or just replace it with Gnome (or other desktop environment for that you fancy). My guess to why they would not do this is you would create a dependency on you as a company to apply/check the changes for every update, instead of just relying on the desktop supplier (KDE) if you use the default UI.
