Very true! I look like an overripe fruit and I smell as though that fruit were a durian.

I wish I looked as good calls as they do. I have a head as lumpy as an overripe orange.

- Comment on The Biden Administration has authorized the use of lethal force by the military against American citizens. 3 weeks ago:
First off this is only relevant to Defense Intelligence. 3.3 starts with “subject to paragraph 3.1” which describes the already-existing laws they are required to follow, such as Posse Comitatus. 3.3 also says a thing that might potentially be lethal requires SecDef approval.
All of this is further restricted by DOD policy 5210.56 which has what seem to me are extremely sensible rules regarding use of force during investigative / law enforcement duties. www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/…/521056p.PDF?ver=PIvI…
This document is replacing the previous policy from 1982 under president Reagan which is very similar but with less detail. www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/…/524001r.pdf
None of this looks unusual or inflammatory to me. Would you rather the DOD NOT have written policies limiting the use of force?

- Comment on IFIXIT: Victory Is Sweet - We Can Now Fix McDonald’s Ice Cream Machines 3 weeks ago:
That’s great, but I’m sure Taylor (ice cream machine manufacturer) will still void your warranty, and McDonald’s corporate will still tell you you’re required to have Taylor service it. There were blackboxed control bypass devices for these machines that let them run longer and self-clean better, but McDonald’s sent out a memo requiring all franchisees to remove them and only allow Taylor to work on those machines.

- Comment on Why is voting before the deadline in US elections referred to as 'early voting'? 4 weeks ago:
I agree with everything you wrote. Many countries have election holidays plus mandatory voting. That seems to work reasonably well, though you’d need to allow for people who can’t get off of work that day.

Yeah, it’s a thorny issue.

I’m always astonished when I see people add lighting to a figure/scene by piling on lighter and lighter colors. It’s mind-blowing to me how artists can figure out how to fake light with colors!

By thinking sexy thoughts, sure. Probably not everyone, as I’m sure some people are more physically aroused than mentally.

I mean, I think that’s a reasonably common position on the left. Not particularly unusual.
