Is Generation X aware that the popularity of tattoos today reminds Baby Boomers and The Silent Generation of criminals?
That’s kinda what this question sounds like. The generations that come after us don’t care about the sensibilities of things that mildly challenged the more conservative norms of the generations before them, and why would they?
Being anonymous on the Internet is also favored by predators, but that ain’t gonna stop me from doing that, either.
Anyone thinking it’s possible to detect predators by their facial hair will end up molested by someone with a smooth face and hard pecker.

So you’re saying you were purposefully shown a set of images that featured mustaches and were told these are what predators look like?
That sounds similar to being taught to fear ethnicities or other ways people present themselves.
Seems like an oversimplification of the world done by narrow minded people who were very misguided.
I would rather attack you and make you cry because I have nothing else going on in my life and this is the one place I feel like I matter.

This isn’t OP’s personal association that’s unique to them. The Hitler 'stache is another style of facial hair with unfortunate associations…
Some might know, some might not know. I don’t think it’s relevant to them and would never confront anyone about it. This connection will die out with time (sooner than the older people, they’ll just get used to seeing it).

Well, not all staches are child predator adjacent. The Charlie Chaplain, the Fu Manchu, the Hulk Hogan, and the Inspector Poirot have other connotations.
And the classic 1970s-80s Tom Selleck is definitely the pornstache. Boom-chicka-wow-wow.
I’ve always found jokes like that to be distasteful and weird.
Elder Millennial here. I think I just have that “eww pedostache” reaction because, when I was young, such mustache styles were common among middle-aged men who hadn’t updated their styles since the '80s. Some of those men were creepy, so the mustache style became associated with creepy old men. And of course, teenaged giggling among ourselves about “eww pedostache!” really cemented the association.
I’m pretty sure our parents had the same initial reaction when we brought aviator glasses back into fashion. We’ll get over it, the cycle continues.

I have one of those dumb pornstaches, it’s ridiculous. But, the industry I work in is very specific about allowed facial hair. And I’m bald, so… doubly bad. But, idgaf. I’m in my thirties, most of the people I work with are in their twenties. I only don’t shave it because it’s a pain in the ass Monday morning to shave it after a weekend of not. It’s course and sensitive AF. And I HATE having to buy new disposable razor heads.
If only they’d just get with the times and permit beards… 12 more years of this shit, maybe it’ll happen while I’m still here.
I can never tell with things like this if it's a US fashion trend that hasn't made it out yet or if this is just an internet thing that doesn't really exist. Either way not seen an increase in mustaches

I don’t really associate them with child predators, but I personally find them staches ugly AF. But I’m just a millenial, so you do you.
