- Comment on If I have an account on Mastodon.Social, and another account on PieFed.Social are they technically on the same instance, since they're both on .Social? 2 months ago:
Mastodon.social is the address to that specific Mastodon instance. Take a look at this site for more info.
why not make everything (instance).com?
I’m not exactly sure what you mean by that? Are you suggesting everyone to use a ().com? If so, because they are rarely available and if they are, quite expensive.

Yeah, of course it is. Because that’s what OP asked for. I don’t see ( use it for a bit first and then automatically copy it over ).
I see:

Is it possible to use SSD drive as a catch drive for 12 TB HDD so it uses SSD speeds when downloading and moves files to HDD later on?
Is that not what you asked for?
- Comment on Data HDD with SSD catch drive 2 months ago:
Yes, if the temporary directory where the files are being downloaded (incomplete folder) is on the SSD, then it should be faster, especially if you’ve identified a cheap HDD as your bottleneck. Unless you are incorrect about the HDD being the bottleneck.

Yes. It’s part of the application and well documented. What did you try and not work?
- Comment on Predictions for the next Xbox in 2026 2 months ago:
It would be highly uncharacteristic of Microsoft not to try competing with the Valve.
They had years of opportunity to provide better gaming hardware and software for their customers, but they didn’t. Now that the SteamDeck has gained popularity, they’ve realized the need refresh the lXbox”, likely with an emphasis on Gaming as a Service (Game Pass) and a strong push into streaming games. What they’ve been doing which is basically anything to get people to subscribe.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they released new features or hardware requirements that hinder the SteamDeck’s ability to play newer Microsoft game releases. It wouldn’t be too difficult for them, considering they’ve purchased a significant portion of the gaming market. One thing is certain—there will be zero innovation.

One more thought…
I used to kind of enjoy them until one of them hit on a subject I had just researched and knew immediately how they were spinning it. I can’t stand them now.
That’s a fair point.
My personal opinion: Over the years, I’ve learned to always keep the big picture in mind. While these comedy shows often bend things for the sake of humor, they’ve still provided me with valuable perspectives, ideas, and information on topics I wasn’t previously aware of. As an adult, these shows often serve as a starting point or introduction to subjects that I then research further on my own. It’s funny how we hold these comedians and writers to a higher bar than news stations.

Definitely. I completely agree. Which is why I mentioned it at the end of my comment.
One thing I will say though, as an adult, watching those comedy shows, I’m aware it’s a comedy show. Some shows are better than others reporting accurately. But it’s still a comedy show and advertised as such. They have never reached even remotely the level of nonsense presented HOURLY of TV News Networks like OAN and Fox News.

My main concern is that, because the focus is primarily on making money, some young people might mistake entertainment for truth. The content creators are more interested in earning money and are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that, rather than providing accurate discourse. In reality, this election is not a viral video, a TikTok challenge, or a source of amusement. It is a serious real-life event with significant consequences.
The other side of that coin is that society has been publicly parodying candidates since the beginning. So who am I to judge this new form of it.
