  I’m surprised it was even still able to be used. Last time I went to check out what I even had on my EA library and launched Origin, it wouldn’t let me do anything but get the new EA Play app.

  You and many of these other replies are acting like lobbying only happens one way and is the sole reason for shit like this. Lobbying works both ways. There was considerable campaigns ran against the corporate interests, too, in favor of pushing the new law forward.

  Then what is your solution short of executing these people?

  First of all, I said I find it hard to sympathize with people who vote against their best interest. If you took that as a suggestion of executing people you are out of your damn head and I would thank you not to put words in my fucking mouth.

  Second, the problem is the complete lack of critical thinking that leads to people being persuaded by the highest conflict of interest invested in keeping the status quo while you’re being fucked over. To start, we should be better funding the education system in this country instead of funding Israel to bomb the fuck out of Palestinians and shit.

  I don’t think fondly of the people who voted for Trump, either. If you drink the Kool-Aid because the guy handing it out said it was fine, after being warned about the potential outcome of said Kool-Aid repeatedly by everyone else, at some point you share in the blame for the outcome.

  There isn’t anything on the horizon I am interested in right now. At least, nothing with a concrete release date. The only thing I can even think of right now is getting Adventure Mode in the Steam version of Dwarf Fortress. And that could come anywhere between tomorrow and a decade from now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  It was a measure on the ballot in 2016, I think? Maybe 2020? The same as the more recent one that passed giving restaurant employees a bump up to $21/hour in pay without changing the $16/hour state minimum wage.

  In California, anyway. There was a bill/measure whatever the hell to make contractors with services like Uber, DoorDash, etc get treated like normal hired employees, so they would have a minimum wage, guaranteed breaks and lunch, and all the other protections offered to employees here.

  Why the hell would they make the alert link to a post on anything instead of just having the relevant info in the alert? I’ve had at least 2 amber alerts come through and a few earthquake warnings as well, and they just had all the info you needed in the alert pop up itself.
