At least you’ll have an excuse to finally shoot the printer.

Now you have to fry your air manually before breathing it
Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 month ago
That’s not even the hard part. The hard part was, and still is, battering the air to fry it.

WHAT’S IN THE AIR FRYER?!
polle@feddit.org 1 month ago
Can someone can explain why airfryer hype so hard? I cant find the difference to an oven with air circulation, that mostly everyone already has.

faster because smaller volume

Yep, and we recently switched out our old “air fryer” to replace it with a toaster oven that has convection and an air frying mode. But it can do toaster oven stuff like bake and broil pretty well, and with a wider tray than any air fryer basket.
Our big oven is pretty good too. It has a convection fan and various modes and whatnot. The air frying toaster oven literally duplicates functions it already gives us, but it’s worth taking up a large kitchen gadget spot just for the speed and efficiency including sometimes not heating up the house. (I’m in the US, air fryers and toaster ovens use 120V 15A outlets while the oven is on 240V 30+A.)

It’s great for up to 3 person household, as using convection oven mean slower cooking time. I could do roasted potato for under 15 min(not including the boiling part), but for convection oven it’s gonna be 45min or more. The small size and the way hot air directly blow at the food makes it a superior cooking ware for small portion.
The result of the food also closer to deepfry than baking. Though it’s not gonna be as crisp as deepfry, but it’s also not gonna be as dry as oven bake.

idk. We used to have a toaster oven, but my wife insisted on replacing it with an air fryer. I liked the toaster oven more.
plus, good god, the whole house smelled like burned plastic for hours after warming it up the first feqw times. That can’t be good for anyone.

I have a convection toaster oven/air fryer, and even that is way better than my oven.
Whatever the baking instructions are normally, I can cut 25% of the time off (actually have to or it will burn), plus I don’t have to bother preheating it, unless the cook time is very short.
Plus it uses way less power than the fullsize oven. The one I have takes forever to preheat and has to be set 25 degrees higher, and the convection function doesn’t seem to make any difference because the fan blows. As in it sucks, and I don’t mean the air behind it.

Ayo, when is it?

The first purpose of owning a air fryer is to tell everyone that you own one. It’s a modern form of keeping up with the Joneses.
(SPOILER ALERT)
Their was a Disney live-action film back in 2009 called G-Force where the main villain of the plot tries to take over the world with a army of robots disguised as smart appliances.

I will not show even a single piece of mercy if the machines we made go against us. Their ONE purpose is to do what they were made for.

Yes, but if you shoot the airfryer, you won’t have an airfryer anymore.
ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 1 month ago
Does your air fryer require an internet connection? Wifi? Bluetooth? or OS updates?
If you not, your air fryer can safely supply the fighting forces with delicious fries in the war against the machines.

The only thing appliances should need is electricity.

The power grid works on computronics tho, unless we use off grid solar or whatnot
philpo@feddit.org 1 month ago
Funny enough yeah, you can trans mit data long range via powerlines.
I am old enough to remember the older career firefighters having devices at home that basically listened to the frequency shift. If a certain signal was given (via the substations) that frequency shift was observed by the devices and an electric alarm bell was activated so people knew shit had hit the fan and they probably should head to work.
It was already phased out, thought, back then.
