You mean a core memory?
Texas_Hangover@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
My daughter happened upon Happy tree friends at about 4 or 5 years old lol. She absolutely loved it, and there was no taking it away. Luckily she was born with the ability to realize the difference between real life and make believe, and she turned out just fine.
Ffs, she’s only messily killed 2 of her friends. And one of those was an accident.
jol@discuss.tchncs.de 17 hours ago
She was definitely not born with that ability…

I mean, Grimm’s Fairy Tales are similar levels of absurd violence lol
Pechente@feddit.org 1 day ago
Or google Struwwelpeter if you wanna see what German kids are exposed to. Happy tree friends is tame in comparison.
DarkCloud@lemmy.world 1 day ago
It honestly isn’t a show an adult is likely to watch.

Oh my.

Somebody’s grandma is gonna buy that for their grandson and the cycle will continue

Oh I miss those cartoons a lot, we watched it with friends and we couldn’t stop laughing all the time.
sonoro@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
You fellas laughed about the poor animals dying?!! :d
mrfriki@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
All day long. The mix of cute animals and the nonchalant gore plus funny noises was peak comedy. Probably among the best stuff on YouTube ever.

ah, another man of culture, i see.

Ummm wtf get played on that? I’m scared what it could be.
thermal_shock@lemmy.world 21 hours ago
Cartoon Animals getting ripped apart by various means. Accidentally walking into a wood chipper, jumping into a barrel of razorwire, etc. pretty graphic.
dellish@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
Not to mention hilarious.

Or…its the German word for children
Drewmeister@lemmy.world 1 day ago
While yes, Happy Tree Friends is probably not for kids despite how it might look
AppleTea@lemmy.zip 1 day ago
I kinda think it was made with the intention kids would be exposed to it by mistake.
Xande@discuss.tchncs.de 1 day ago
German media company managers are still think “Oh it’s a cartoon, it must be for children!” No, they haven’t hear the shot…
boonhet@sopuli.xyz 10 hours ago
I reckon OP realized that but was more amused by the literal gore cartoon in the Kinder section and the title of the post is an entirely separate joke
jaaake@lemmy.world 1 day ago
The German words on the sign in the background support your observation

I don’t envy you after letting your kid watch happy tree friends. Good luck with the nightmares.

What’s German?
TachyonTele@piefed.social 1 day ago
It's a big country in Europe with a lot of people in it. But that's not important right now.
