- Comment on Gen Z are dipping into their retirements, skipping meals and selling their belongings just to get by, new reports find 18 hours ago:
I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted, what you’re saying is pretty much what everyone else is.
You’re acknowledging that corporate greed and class warfare is the problem. You’re using your position as a parent in a half decent financial situation to help your kids where you can. You’re not wrong.
You’re not blaming gen Z at all but I fear without punctuation people might be misinterpreting. Every last bit of collective effort helps.
Your sons are fortunate to have you as a parent.

Plenty of age appropriate “birds and bees” books out there, this is a “packets and pings” one.

- Comment on They are a lot smarter than you think 1 week ago:
I don’t think most people take it so seriously.
It’s shorthand to denote that they’re not humans, and separate what you read from your own internal monologue. Because it’s a meme, it’s often done with haste and inconsistent. Although I’ve never met a toddler who talks in a manner like pet-net-speak.
Now that I think of it, I have a sincere question: do you find characters like Daffy or Donald Duck creepy? How about Scooby Doo?

Puritanism comes down to “happiness is bad.“
Not just sex; dancing, music, poetry, novels, games, decorations. Anything which takes joy in life and expression is forbidden.
Suffering while alive is seen as the proper punishment for being born human - seeing people and nature as beautiful and divine is legitimately blasphemy to these people.

This is beautiful.
I should have expected heavy camp from the ‘80s, but having only heard the song and not seen it I didn’t think of the band as nerdcore.

Holy moly I didn’t realize the visual fidelity on this game. Thank you for sharing and keeping up on this project!

On principle they’re right.
They’re naive Nazis thinking the orange leopard won’t let his corrupt friends eat their faces, but also fuck any and all authoritarian censorship.
- Comment on Almost half of adults say they are ordering kids' meals. Here's what's behind the trend. 1 week ago:
TL;DR: It’s cheaper.
“Painfully high fast food prices drive adults to order from kids’ menus” would be the less clickbaity title.

- Comment on Have you watched masterpiece named "Happy"? 2 weeks ago:
I haven’t seen Happy, but Bloody and trashy could also be Tucker & Dale vs. Evil.
It’s also more horror-comedy so idk if that fits your vibe. Still recommend though.

- Comment on China's unemployed young adults who are pretending to have jobs 3 weeks ago:
Seems like the job market is a sinkhole everywhere in the world.
I feel for them, but it’s nice to have a communal space to freelance and apply for jobs instead of slogging through it endlessly in isolation.
Would be a nice idea in the US but it would get enshittified and price hiked before I finish typing this sentence.
- Comment on AI Is a Total Grift 3 weeks ago:
When I think of a scam, I think a one-off, obviously amateur attempt. An email with awful grammar saying the government will fine me a bajillion dollars if I don’t download a file is a scam. A scam will also leave you alone.
A grift is done by career slimeballs. Used car salesmen, big C-suites and corrupt politicians are grifters. It’s more offensive and more aggressive. You can’t escape a grift.
- Comment on How can it be crystal clear your president is a child rapist and every one just carries on? Scary stuff friends. 3 weeks ago:
Thank you.
Nobody truly interested/invested in “subversive activity” (heavy on the quotes there) is going to go blabbing about it on the frickin clearnet.
Just because you don’t see things posted online doesn’t mean they’re not happening.
Life exists outside the internet and even in Star Wars the rebellion didn’t go screaming and drawing attention to what they’re doing. Neither did the Empire.
Any real change, in any meaningful direction happens in meatspace. And most people who aren’t in the status quo party(ies) are going to keep low in public when not in huge numbers. Hard to do anything impactful when you’re dead or disappeared.
