TIL Mewgenics released.
Hell yeah!
- Comment on Weren’t you also mercilessly beaten outside of a club in Torrance for that? 1 day ago:
That’s where the distinction between Americana/folk and “country” seems to come in.
If it points out the systemic unfairness that all working class Americans face, it’s American folk music. If it’s about tractors and ogling your sister, it’s pandering.

You can buy music from places like bandcamp to support the artists directly ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That level of doxxing is 4chan shit. Compared to that, we have lives and actual hobbies. You’re good.

Yeah but then we can’t bitch together in person and go on twelve side tangents, then share random memes with live commentary that we forgot about until the current conversation.
Could probably be also done with FaceTime though.

Do you think there were JWs in Monsters, Inc.?

My tortie won’t go a day without telling me what she thinks, lmao

I wasn’t expecting to feel so seen at this ungodly hour
Cold light is so clinical and miserable, and I refuse to have it in my vicinity at night if I can help it.

Ori and the Blind Forest, and other metroidvania/pseudo-soulslikes with pretty art and stories.
I just don’t have the patience to “git gud” anymore.

Say goodbye to whatever in-game morals you think you have. CotL is wildly addicting in an amusing way.
You’re pretty much right on the money that the lamb is kind of a “blank slate” for a player self-insert. Freedom of choice (for you, not your followers, ofc) is the name of the game.

I mean this in a genuine way - I actually don’t expect you to spend your free time on things you don’t have interest in. That would, indeed, be a waste of your time.
Your archival of games is a great effort and a positive thing.
Some folks enjoy gaming, game history, and cultural critique of generational hardware. Those interests/hobbies are also valid. That’s not a waste of their time.

Believe it or not, sometimes a person can interact with many other people to learn things. They can also use the internet to look up information.
Money need not be spent for this knowledge.
- Comment on We all lack self perception 2 weeks ago:
I’ve been old since I was like 14. I was young for like a year in my late teens then went back to being the local grandparent.
I fully accept and enjoy it. I make great cookies and have oodles of blankets to choose from when watching TV.

January is the decade before the century of February (at least in the northern hemisphere). Everything after that is a day each.

Excellent troll.
Millennial kids knew about rotary phones, and floppy disks, and dot-matrix printers. Was still fun to rib at the older generations ¯_(ツ)_/¯
- Comment on I miss play-by-email games 3 weeks ago:
That sounds like so much fun. My college’s email game was someone accidentally mass emailed to the whole school roster and everyone replied with a smartass comment until it got shut down lol.
Happened a few times a semester, too.
- Comment on How do you build and cultivate revolutionary optimism, given what's happening in the US? 3 weeks ago:
Anarchist praxis and using the levers in the current system to better ends are not mutually exclusive. The line is understanding that the state itself is largely not built or operated in the in the interest of the common people.
We can hold our noses and vote, and show up to local councils, and not put all our eggs in one government/corporate-appointed basket by building mutual aid and having each other’s backs.
If politicians are actually throwing some action behind slowing down the mess they’re complicit in, that’s great! In the meantime, there’s a video on here showing the BPP protecting people in Philadelphia as a solid example of good anarchist(adjacent) organization and action.
One-or-the-otherism leads to nothing getting done. And hope is definitely an important part of resistance. We’re all in this together, for better or worse so we should fight side by side.
TL;DR: anarchists are on your side, no need to frame us otherwise. /gen

Jewish kids get a bar/bat mitzvah, Italian-(American) kids learn and make their own sauce.
And each person has their own unique take on it, so no two people’s sauces are quite alike. Finding out who was cooking dinner at a gathering was fun that way.
- Comment on Why do we have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash soaps? 4 weeks ago:
I’ll tack on that some folks need a separate face wash, as the harshness of regular soap can screw up sensitive/dry skin.
Still, fully agree. Any singular soap is going to be better than a hodge-podge “all-in-one” bottle of god knows what.
- Comment on What are your technology mispredictions? 4 weeks ago:
I have the 2DSXL, and have played about half of those. I was just sad it was primarily limited to mostly online (Pushmo’s servers are dead) and first-party titles. I was a GBA/DS kid so expected wider variety beyond that.
It’s a fantastic little device for modding though!
- Comment on What are your technology mispredictions? 4 weeks ago:
I thought Apple/most smartphones would never move to USB-C, or away from proprietary chargers. Pleasantly surprised - thank you EU.
I thought wireless controllers were going to be a fad, or at least garbage in their reliability/connection strength.
I thought VR was finally going to take off as the next major gaming experience when the Vive came out. Unfortunately it remains niche.
I thought Linux was going to be unusable for gaming/mainstream use cases for much longer, but Valve has made huge strides on that with Proton, and OSS devs making things like Heroic for other stores has been awesome.
I also thought we’d never get another steam controller. Also pleasantly surprised.

I thought the switch was gonna end up with the same depressing library as the 3DS, if that’s any consolation.
