That’s my plan. Primarily food and handmade/carefully picked gifts rather than lavish this year.
Also wtf? How is 2 years “a long time” to hold onto an expensive machine? Mine have been at least 4-5 years between buys. Products are supposed to last.

Lack of accessibility options, not unlike you.
Most games are better about this now, but subtitles, difficulty options, and the ability to turn off flashing lights are critical to the point I can’t play for long, sometimes at all without them.
- Comment on Gaming Pet Peeves 12 hours ago:
Unskippable cutscenes absolutely need to die. Even on the first playthrough - give me the info I need in a notes section or something, but do not waste my limited time on this coil with slow “exposition.”
I usually quit those when they get too grating and move on, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.

The last person who said something nice to him is whoever’s side he’s on, example 5829583920.
Mamdani is awesome anyway, but it’s amusing to see.

Yeah, a lot of this is simply human variation.
I’ve been in relationships where I’ve both been the asker and the askee, just depends on the dynamic ¯\(ツ)/¯

Is this Body Worlds?
That exhibit traumatized the hell out of me and I was an obnoxious edgy little asshole tween, so it was an achievement on their part.

MKDS had the best soundtrack, hands down.
Also the reason I main Daisy on 8 😄

I would hope so.
I hate it in this hellhole, and the only language these wastes of oxygen understand is money. Every bit of divestment helps.

- Comment on The problem of cross-community posting 2 weeks ago:
This is also how I feel.
Getting different perspectives from different circles instead of being migrated to one dominant website culture is a big part of why I haven’t moved to piefed, since it seems like that semi-forced centralization is part of their vision.

Does it have to be a show? Tales from Earthsea is pretty good if you haven’t seen it already.

12ft got taken down sometime last year, iirc.

That would explain why adguard’s public DNS started blocking it (labeled vaguely as “legal request”).
- Comment on The Palantir Stare aka The Thiel Razzle 2 weeks ago:
If the bug guy from MiB had a baby with Duke Nukem, killed him, had Madame Toussad make a wax replica of the corpse, and burned down the museum the result would still look like a better representation of a person than Peter Thiel.
Evil takes of a hell of a toll on these sumbitches.

- Comment on In franchises that establish a multiverse (ie the MCU or Star Trek) almost all fan fiction is technically canon compliant 2 weeks ago:
Comic series have a multiverse for precisely that reason - wide distribution and high content output dont usually happen with just one author, and keeping the story details consistent and simultaneously fresh isn’t practical.

- Comment on A hypothesis 2 weeks ago:
I think the issue is not having a desktop-type computer at all and having a tablet/phone that’s so locked down the kid isn’t given the opportunity to explore or troubleshoot.
Tinkering is how you learn to solve problems, which requires having something tinker-able without having to go down a hacky rabbithole.
