Same and some of these things I’ve done in the last couple years.
AbidingOhmsLaw@lemmy.ml 3 months ago
Done them all and I see 4 that still apply today.

Shapillon@lemmy.world 3 months ago
What’s the thing you’ve never done?
Skunk@jlai.lu 3 months ago
Zero as well. Damn we’re old 👴
jinarched@lemm.ee 3 months ago
Young Matt Damon fades into old Matt Damon.
Shapillon@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Same and I’m not even 30 ^^`
fmstrat@lemmy.nowsci.com 3 months ago

Same what a feel bad meme.

0 point gang rise up.
But don’t rise too quickly. I know our backs don’t like that.
Jumi@lemmy.world 3 months ago
I have 1 point but only because there was never a Blockbuster in Germany. Can I rise too?
NotNow@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Also german, I guess any spot to take out videos counts also. So welcome to the “0 point club”.
MoreFPSmorebetter@lemmy.zip 3 months ago
You can rise… But let’s be extra careful with raising that right arm.
shalafi@lemmy.world 3 months ago
The fire rises brother! (OK, not an appropriate quote, just wanted to say it.)
Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 3 months ago
I assume there was an equivalent service though?
absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 3 months ago
Same, 1 point because no Blockbuster in NZ
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Hey folks, is this where the old farts are hanging out? Point me toward the bathroom, I’ll be a while.
MoreFPSmorebetter@lemmy.zip 3 months ago
Whoa whoa whoa. I’m only 33. I just happened to like old shit growing up and I got to use it all right as it went out the door and got replaced haha.
Bruncvik@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Preach on, brother. Just came back from my physio. He did some dry needling on my lower back because it ain’t what it used to be when I was still Wired for Sound.
Chip_Rat@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Yeah I can’t recall using a typewriter seriously, but for sure I’ve used on for fun. Also trying to get a commodore 64 to print my homework in 1992 should aub in nicely.
MoreFPSmorebetter@lemmy.zip 3 months ago
My great aunt left me her typewriter when she passed. My father holds onto it as I have nowhere too to store it and he enjoys using it from time to time. It’s becoming harder and harder to find replacement ribbons or people that can repair it at all, but it’s still kicking. I typed out a few short papers on it in highschool just for fun.
I’m not 100% sure that’s the exact model I have but it looks like the right one.
Tedesche@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Yup, flat zero.
airman@infosec.pub 3 months ago

Hello old friend
bazus1@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Yeah, the hurts-to-get-out-of-bed is real.
Enkrod@feddit.org 3 months ago
1 Point, we don’t use cheques in Germany.
affenlehrer@feddit.org 3 months ago
3, same with the cheques
Mannimarco@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 months ago
I’m exactly the same, only i’m from the Netherlands
nilclass@discuss.tchncs.de 3 months ago
Actually… en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocheque
Enkrod@feddit.org 3 months ago
Still nothing compared to how it’s used in the US.
I’ve never seen a cheque in my entire life and it’s so incredibly niche that you might as well talk about paying with stocks or gold bars.
Nomad@infosec.pub 3 months ago
There was a time when people used cheques in Germany. I remember my father using them ages ago
Wilco@lemm.ee 3 months ago
Zero points.
twopi@lemmy.ca 3 months ago
No wonder. You have a 26 day old account. Welcome to the world babyface.
Kyuuketsuki@lemmy.ml 3 months ago
You also have it the wrong way around. It’s a point for everything you have not done.
ne0n@lemmy.world 3 months ago
1 because despite being born in the early 80s, paper checks are for old people and Americans
nibbler@discuss.tchncs.de 3 months ago
I considered claiming this point, but I used traveler cheques once, so um not sure
Brickhead92@lemmy.world 3 months ago
There’s also bank cheques.
the16bitgamer@programming.dev 3 months ago
Born in the mid 90s in Canada. You guys should’ve seen the state of book fairs in Canada. It was easier to pay via cheque than credit card.
Zannsolo@lemmy.world 3 months ago
I had to start paying my rent by check again landlord trying to dodge taxes by cashing checks instead of depositing them.
dotslashme@infosec.pub 3 months ago
2 points, but only because we don’t have blockbuster where I’m from, I have rented movies though. I have also never used a check to pay for anything.
raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 3 months ago
1 point for the same reason, but having used traveler’s cheques :)
4shtonButcher@discuss.tchncs.de 3 months ago
Same.
cannedtuna@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Millennial with a big fat 0 over here
hardcoreufo@lemmy.world 3 months ago
My only point was I never listened to a boom box outside.
proudblond@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Mine might be that we didn’t own an encyclopedia; I can’t remember if we did or not. But… I think we did.
ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 3 months ago
I learned to ride my bike one handed so I could carry my boom box. Tracking down 8 D Batteries was the hardest part.
TangledHyphae@lemmy.world 3 months ago
You an elder millennial by chance?
Rakonat@lemmy.world 3 months ago
2 points cause we lived a couple blocks from the library so we never felt the need to own a dictionary or encyclopedia. Though really like 1.5 since my sister did have a CD from world book program that was like an encyclopedia for kids
superkret@feddit.org 3 months ago
Your age is 40 minus your number of points.
DrBob@lemmy.ca 3 months ago
I’m 60 so I’ll take 40.
missandry351@lemmings.world 3 months ago
40-4 points is 36, I’m turning 35 this year 😹 only missed it by a year
LegoBrickOnFire@lemmy.world 3 months ago
40-14 is also off by half a year, dang
Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Gasp, burn the witch
madjo@feddit.nl 3 months ago
I just turned 45. But I have 1 point. I’d happily pretend to be 39 though.
wanderwisley@lemm.ee 3 months ago

CherryBullets@lemmy.ca 3 months ago
3 points. 90s kid. The early 2000s still had remnants of a lot of this stuff.
bluewing@lemm.ee 3 months ago
A perfect zero. I have done all of those things and more that the creator of that list can’t even imagine. Things that were everyday common but have faded beyond memory, (and aren’t missed at all).
tomi000@lemmy.world 3 months ago
- No Blockbuster in Europe, and noone uses checks here.
Dvixen@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Zeeeero!
UncleArthur@lemmy.world 3 months ago
I am proudly batting zero.
Korne127@lemmy.world 3 months ago
- Sent or received a fax
You clearly do not live in Germany
Cano@lemm.ee 3 months ago

Come at me grandpas
Canopyflyer@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Older Gen X’er here.
This list was basically a Tuesday for me back in the day.
Maggoty@lemmy.world 3 months ago
I get zero points. Elder millennials rally at the landline we’ll have two drinks and fall asleep at 10pm!
Nfamwap@lemmy.world 3 months ago
0
Fuck, I’m old.
MarcomachtKuchen@feddit.org 3 months ago
8 points. I’m born in 1997.
- No floppy disk
- No typewriter
- No Walkman
- No boom box
- No record of radio
- No Blockbuster (I think that store is not present in my country)
- No dial up Internet
- No cheque
HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 3 months ago
Big fat zero for me.
Zip2@feddit.uk 3 months ago
Just the 1. I’ve never listened to a boombox outdoors.
Redredme@lemmy.world 3 months ago
- Blockbuster didnt exist in the EU.
Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 3 months ago
1 point. Never used a boombox. And yes, I have written a check at a store while people waited in line behind me. Their cold angry stares still haunt me.
Carrot@lemmy.today 3 months ago
I’m in my mid 20s. Maybe it’s because I grew up poor and was using outdated tech when I was a kid.
I didn’t use vinyl or a film camera until a few years ago though, I have been really enjoying the physicality and ritualism of analog tech recently
Sk3rgi0@lemm.ee 3 months ago
I got zero.
Yes I’m old. On the plus side I still have my family commadore 64 from 1982.
ebolapie@lemmy.world 3 months ago
My town had a family video, not a blockbuster.
Nusm@yall.theatl.social 3 months ago
None. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
Let’s just say that at some places, I get senior discounts. Not ALL places, but some.
Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 17 hours ago
I literally just wrote a check today to pay for a vehicle inspection. And a couple recently to pay some contractors for some house repairs
