I could probably get it if I knew the emperor. But I don’t. And I can’t.
brossman@infosec.pub 3 days ago
it’s aristotle (pronounced aristotle)
Excrubulent@slrpnk.net 3 days ago
Thanks for clarifying the pronunciation, I was confused.
too_high_for_this@lemmy.world 3 days ago
I believe it’s actually pronounced Aristotle, to rhyme with Aristotle
wolfrasin@lemmy.today 3 days ago
‘Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle’
By examination of rhyme in ancient songs of yore we can guess at correct pronunciation
The_Lurker@lemmy.world 3 days ago
I get it now!

Hint: its not an emperor
The_Lurker@lemmy.world 3 days ago
That’s where I got confused. I thought it was Marcus Aurelius. Very confused.

Yeah, everyone knows the correct pronunciation is Chip-ōl-tay
Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 3 days ago
Like not even close mispronounce.
TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 days ago
Well, there isn’t an ‘é’ at the end of Chipotle so I assume you pronounce it like Aristotle instead of like Nestlé.
LSNLDN@slrpnk.net 3 days ago
I unironically thought it was pronounced chipottel until I heard Cartman in that South Park episode
