They really are arguing that murking a CEO has more potential to change things than just about anything else.
Equal under the law or something

Our ownership class and the institutions that obey them in favor of good governance are due full recognition. Should all acquaintance be forgot, the CIA extrajudicial detention and
enhanced interrogationtorture program was completely developed not because that’s a good way to get intelligence (it’s not) but because some rich people were sore about 9/11 and wanted to see Arab Muslims suffer, whether they were related to the event or not. (Compare and contrast price-tag killings in Palestine.)The escalation of charges against Luigi Mangione to terrorism are not due to any evidence, and in fact prosecutors and attorneys general have already weighed in that Murder One will be difficult to prove (NYC has a tightly constrained definition of M1. Assuming they have sound evidence linking Mangione to the crime – they may not – Murder Two is the the most likely conviction.)
It was noted on the day of the attack that certain hate crime homicides in NYC were ignored in news media. A fellow was shanked for not being sufficiently white by a white supremacist, and that incident is not being considered grounds for terrorism, even though the hate-crime aspects of the incident are already evident. What’s the difference? Mangione attacked someone of the ownership class, and they have influence enough to corrupt our justice system while we watch.
All I wanna say is that they don’t really care about us

Yeah because the ruling class only feels terrorized by one of them.

What is the purpose of the word “terrorist” orher than to legitimize violence done by militaries of recognized governments?? When both are essentially the same?
HowManyNimons@lemmy.world 3 days ago
SwingingTheLamp@midwest.social 3 days ago
Does it need another purpose?
TwigletSparkle@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 days ago
It’s not classed as terrorism unless there was a CEO in the crowd /s

Otherwise it’s just sparkling freedom of speech with guns

Please get it out of your mind that there is anything here about justice… it’s not about justice, it’s about power. It always has been, the continued fake shock of this only continues to be unproductive whining. There is no one that is confused about this, there are those who see it for what it is and those who are willingly ignorant.
jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 3 days ago
I don’t know if it’s wholly unproductive. Memes like this can stoke stochastic violence, but hopefully pointed at people who deserve violence. If someone sees this and decides “Fuck it, I’m going to murder an health insurance executive” then that’s probably a net positive.

what’s the pool up to on whether the actual terrorist in this case is a nazi/trumpling

Apparently this doesn’t refer to the New Orleans attack, which the FBI is investigating as an act of terrorism. Must be a different one.
JoMiran@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
They are now treating it as an act of terror but the original statement was that it was not an act of terrorism. This changed after the screenshot was taken.
LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 3 days ago
So let’s keep spreading an inaccurate meme cuz the FBI can grow but we can’t? M’kay.

Lulzagna@lemmy.world 2 days ago
FBI suspects terrorism??? They’re both terrorism. It’s not difficult to understand
jeffw@lemmy.world 3 days ago
The FBI is investigating the NO attack as an act of terrorism. This is how misinformation spreads.
JoMiran@lemmy.ml 3 days ago
At the time the N.O. Mayor’s office was arguing that it was not a terrorist attack. The FBI is now looking into it as a terror attack. Things change. It happens.
seedotrun@lemmy.world 3 days ago
The FBI special agent in charge said on a live broadcast a couple of hours ago that it was not terrorism. Maybe she misspoke. Maybe they realized the PR nightmare of that choice. But it is certainly not misinformation
Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 3 days ago
Other way around, Mayor said it was terror, FBI originally said it wasn’t. Well, one person from the FBI anyway.
SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 days ago
Shocker that when big, horrendous events happen that it’s all chaos and people not knowing what’s happening for hours and hours afterwards.
You know, not everything is a big fucking conspiracy. Sometimes its just different groups operating on different levels of available information and on different opinions on said information. I doubt the New Orleans mayor spends a ton of time working with the FBI, a completely separate organization.

Hard to get anything right when you’re rushing to push your viewpoint, huh?

It makes it sound like the cops wouldn’t have done anything if the guy hadn’t brought the fight to them.
baggins@lemmy.ca 3 days ago
The cops being idiots doesn’t make this misinformation xD
sp3tr4l@lemmy.zip 3 days ago
Also, unless there has been a recent development, last I heard on the two shot cops was they were in stable condition, not dead.
