- Comment on do you think freewill truly exists? 5 days ago:
There’s more to life than just being comfortable, most things that are worthwhile require getting out of your comfort zone, and I think I’ve realized as I’ve grown older is that a relationship is worthwhile
- Comment on do you think freewill truly exists? 5 days ago:
As someone who’s not been in an real relationship this is my fear as well, even if I find someone how will I keep them engaged enough for a lifetime. I rarely even text the women I get digits from, I’m just very comfortable being alone and now it’s getting problematic
- Comment on WHERE ARE MY PRECISION SCREWDRIVERS 5 days ago:
I bought a precision screwdriver set to replace the failing RAM on my thin lenovo laptop, which has super tiny screw on the ram slot, withing the first few turns of the screwdriver, I stripped that screw. Fucking thing would not budge, tried the rubber band trick, tried to even find somewhere I can borrow a dremel to cut a line on the head for a flat head, finally had to take it to the repair center at a Micro center and they somehow got it out. Never buying a thin laptop again, and will always check online for repair ability

The moment I setup an Omnivore account, it gets acquired and dies, the moment I switch to Pocket it’s dead lol, I think I’ll just move to some open source self hosted read it later app like Karakeep

- Comment on Duolingo CEO says AI is a better teacher than humans—but schools will exist ‘because you still need childcare’ 1 week ago:
When you become an adult you still have to deal with dick heads screaming around you, I know this is Lemmy and people who come here might not have the best social skills, or fond memories of being in school. But schools are a micro representation of the world at large and it’s necessary for kids to have both these good and bad experiences in order to grow up to live in society and deal with all the shit life’s gonna throw at them.
- Comment on Duolingo CEO says AI is a better teacher than humans—but schools will exist ‘because you still need childcare’ 1 week ago:
How fast a kid learns 5th grade syllabus is far less important than how well they learn to get along with other kids and form friendships and basically learn how to live in society. Cooperation, conflict resolution, public speaking, group bonding etc. You can’t learn any of these things from an AI

- Comment on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — 10th Anniversary Trailer 2 weeks ago:
The live action adaptation took a steaming dump on the original story sadly, some episodes are still worth watching but it’s not made by people who understand what made Witcher special, no wonder Henry Cavill left
- Comment on I'm a console gamer so, Why the hate on the Epic Games Store? 2 weeks ago:
Yeesh I knew Epic was run by dick heads but I didn’t know they were this slimy, I’m glad I’ve only bought one game on their platform (Subnautica below zero), and that’s only because I got the original Subnautica for free from their weekly giveaway and loved it. I’ll continue to get the free games from them as it’s good to take a chance on games that you otherwise might never learn about.

- Comment on A growing number of young chinese people are avoiding Starbucks Coffee. US executives are furious. 2 weeks ago:
That last line from the ex CEO is so stupid, Starbucks is the lower end coffee shop, it’s the McDonals of coffee. Anyone who cares about quality coffee would prefer local roasters with fresh coffee anyways
- Comment on YouTube's new ad strategy is bound to upset users: YouTube Peak Points utilise Gemini to identify moments where users will be most engaged, so advertisers can place ads at the point. 2 weeks ago:
Why can’t they just place the ad at the beginning of the video, Spotify gives you X free uninterrupted songs to listen to after listening to 1,2 adds. Why can’t they just follow that model

Any product that advertises on YT is one I avoid
- Comment on We poisoned the whole planet so our eggs wouldn't stick to the pan 🙃 2 weeks ago:
I have a 12 inch stainless steel pan, i preheat it and then add oil but some amount of sticking is inevitable, especially around the edges where ever the food isn’t touching the surface of the pan, the oil burns and polymerises on the pan and it’s a pain to remove, even with barkeepers friend, that’s why I got a 10 inch ceramic hard anodized aluminum pan for cooking eggs and small quantities of foods. I just use the big pan when cooking in bulk now.
- Comment on Netflix will show generative AI ads midway through streams in 2026 2 weeks ago:
Hey Netflix, the amount of people are willing to endure for a paid subscription is ZERO and it will always remain so. In fact even the stupid games advertised on the top of the landing page made me use Netflix less and less, and now that they stopped password sharing I don’t use it at all
