That’s my biggest issue with AI. Now all the APIs want me to pay to use them. Originally the API was an incentive to get engineers to build features for their sites without having to pay them. The engineers get data they need to build their thing and the company providing the API gets free product features and user acquisition. It was mostly a fair trade. Now the companies see a few other companies using that data to train API and make a fortune so their reaction is to charge a fortune for the API. Totally disregarding the previous arrangement. If you are an engineer working on something unrelated to AI you are basically shut down from using any APIs that provide useful data. Everything is locked down now when it once was open. It’s so sad. It makes learning more restrictive

Nothing if you do it yourself but someone else doing it without your permission and making tons of money off of it and not sharing it isn’t very cool so this is nice.

Assuming you mount it on the back of something that would probably be a pretty good place.
I use a lot of mini Linux computers and mount them to the back of monitors. I could see this design being perfect for that except it’s way more expensive lol

For all of these companies trying to merge the default answer should be no. Merging companies isn’t good for capitalism at all in any way so if any company wants to merge they should have to get special permissions. This shit is out of control.

Yeah it was a nice tool for making sites fast. I loved using it but haven’t in a very long time. I hope it’s still nice to work with like it was before. Even with PHP it wasn’t that bad of an experience lol.
- Comment on Amazon cloud boss echoes NVIDIA CEO on coding being dead in the water: "If you go forward 24 months from now, it's possible that most developers are not coding" 3 months ago:
Yeah writing the code isn’t really the hard part. It’s knowing what code to write and how to structure it to work with your existing code or potential future code. Knowing where things might break so you can add the correct tests or alerts. Giving time estimates on how long it will take to build the parts of the system and building in phases to meet your teams needs.

So they will make money of people’s nudes and they will still expect them to post them for free?
Or maybe they will share it with users? but still this isn’t good for actual communities.
