I paid all my bills this week and only had $500 left over for 2 weeks for a family of 4 lol idk how we will make it without using a credit card since food will cost us more than that. I make a very high salary too. We were comfortable for so long then the prices just got insane. We have cut back a lot too but can’t escape this pay check to pay check cycle. I feel trapped now

- Comment on Now that ChatGPT is being trained using Reddit posts 2 months ago:
Yeah Twitter and Reddit were probably a huge source of its original training back when their API was free. I’m pretty sure that’s what made them lock it up and ruin everything. Now only companies who already have a ton of money can buy access.
…unless they just use a web scraper instead

- Comment on Apple is officially dropping iPhone support for web apps in the EU - The Verge 2 months ago:
He pushed everything into apps though. Getting rid of flash was a big part of that because JavaScript wasn’t capable of all of the same things at that time. The canvas wasn’t fully supported yet. That meant games and anything with crazy animations needed to be an app.
Killing flash was one of the first steps to where we are now. It may not have been perfect but it did a lot for its time.
- Comment on AI hiring tools may be filtering out the best job applicants 2 months ago:
Why not skip those companies and put a listing on your own company website? I feel like a big source of the issue is companies outsourcing this kind of thing to other companies. You are going to need to do some work on your own at some point.
