  This follows a rather familar pattern of right wing behaviour:

  • do something terrible to someone else
  • lie about it and say the victim is doing the very same thing to you (projection)
  • declare yourself the victim and the real victims the “bad guys”

  In other words, no. It is pure bullshit, and I very much doubt it even exists.

  Now, hatred of right wing assholes / nazis / republicans? That is real.

  This is not to say that you, OP, need to provide the evidence of a problem. But rather, whoever you’re hearing this from needs to proffer up more than just weasel words.

  There is only so much time before each of us shuffles off our mortal coil, so why spend it contemplating nebulous “issues” when the real issues are readily visible: a pattern of physical violence against LGBTQ+ communities. It’s not exactly difficult to do a web search for “lgbtq violence”.

  And to be abundantly clear, proof of “a pattern” has to show a pervasive, widespread, or organized/systemic series of events. LGBTQ+ violence easily meets this criteria, sadly. Where violence against white people because they’re white or violent against straight people because they’re straight doesn’t meet this bar.

  Demand better evidence from your vendor of talking points.

  I’m both cis and hetero. There is not one iota of evidence I’ve seen that there is any sort of movement that wishes death on cis and hetero people, or that organises vigilante groups to hunt down cis or hetero people to beat them up, or that invents bizarre rumours about ‘what they do’ or conflates cis and hetero people with paedophilia or that tries to organise campaigns to get cis or hetero-centric book removed from libraries.

  There is no formal or informal system of oppression towards cis and hetero people. It just doesn’t exist.

  At most, the only possible oppression is that these people feel left out any time people aren’t talking about them and only them.

  If there’s an “Ok to be gay” event, they will complain that there’s no “Ok to be straight event” as if they’ve EVER heard that it wasn’t ok to be straight.

  If it’s a thing that straight cis people are a dying breed, I haven’t noticed it. I am one myself, and acknowledging that people who are different from me should have the same rights does not make me feel threatened in any way.

  If you just want to compare different types, then sure, any harm caused is bad all the same. This one just doesn’t seem like a very widespread problem to me and I doubt most people complaining are that oppressed.
