Elon could have benefited from having the right people around him.
It seems like a million years ago, but he used to troll the Right by noting how popular Tesla was with LGBTQ community.
He’s losing money, but he still has plenty. If he had the right people in his ear, he could really powerfuck the Trump regime.
If he played his cards right, he’d probably make a fuckton of money doing so.
I’m not so sure about that. Elon already walked back his attacks on Trump, and the Democrats won’t take him in after the Nazi salute and having him turn to trump in the first place means that he can’t be trusted.

Not sure if the video you linked addresses is but I want to add that the whole Edison vs Tesla internet thing was started a The Oatmeal comic, which was packed with inaccuracies, exaggerations and outright lies.
Popularized definitely, he was working off an at the time recent pop history book about Tesla.
Tesla’s been the subject of a lot of weird counter-cultural co-opting since his death. Kinda like Che but for electricity instead of marxism.
Do people associate the car with Nikola? I’ve never really conflated the two, though the bitter irony of the modern day Edison abusing the name is not lost on me.
I enjoy the fuck out of him being trolled by the Canadian electric truck manufacturer Edison Motors as well.

It’s in line with the one “skill” musk seems to have: find promising teams to “lead” and take the public credit for their work, then when the great teams’ work gets attention, that confirms musk’s idea that HE is the key creative and technical force, then he starts forcing the company to do things HIS way and the products start blowing up even more than usual.
So we should be right about at that enshittification inflection point on Grok.
(I guess it’s not really “enshittification” since it’s done for megalomaniacal reasons and not for profit-driven ones, but I liked the sound of it)

He personally does, but Grok calling him out on his BS makes Grok look better in my view. Still not going to use any product remotely associated with Musk though
