- Comment on Avowed Director Leaves Obsidian For Netflix Games 1 hour ago:
If he’s on the case like properly I’ll be a happy camper. There’s been a couple of actually enjoyable mobile games from netflix.
- Comment on $80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen" 3 hours ago:
I’m the opposite, I don’t give a monkeys about the story but I like the loot goblining.
That said a borderlands came on the gamepass the other week and I was so excited to lure my boy into co-op with me for the first time in ages. It wouldn’t stop crashing. I googled it to see if they were aware and all I could find was the company sucking it’s own dick about having already released the final patch to stop it crashing so many times. I wouldn’t say I’m thrilled about the idea of dropping $80 on a day one release.
- Comment on No, the next-gen Xbox does not run on Arm — here's what you need to know 1 day ago:
Feels weird to be talking about next gen Xbox already, feels like we only just getting the supply issues of the Series sorted.
- Comment on Sony blocks Stellar Blade on more than 100 countries 3 days ago:
Could you elaborate a little more? Like do those countries not allow subscription services or something?
Only reason i can think of with my rational, non-global-economic brain is that it’s got too much gory/sexual/political/whatever content that isn’t worth the effort censoring.
- Comment on What techniques do bad faith users use online to overwhelm other users in online discussion and arguments? 3 days ago:
To be fair I wasn’t around in ancient times to get my loincloth in a twist about it. When I saw that list the Internet was just moving away from Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan chat rooms. It wasn’t the all-pervasive life-replacement it is today.
- Comment on I have never met a woman named after her own mother 3 days ago:
I always assumed it would just be the same, but now that you mention it I’ve never met a female junior
- Comment on What techniques do bad faith users use online to overwhelm other users in online discussion and arguments? 3 days ago:
I remember reading that list years and years ago and thinking how petty it was that so much effort has gone into it.
Now I’m a little bit worried about how far ahead of the game these cunts are.
- Comment on Pedestrians Walking on Right or Left? 3 days ago:
This is the rule I’ve tried to follow. Exceptions for vulnerable people. When I’m pushing the pram though I’m getting the inside lane.
- Comment on Is it weird to sometimes wonder wether everything you know is wrong? 3 days ago:
Daily, but on a much smaller, pettier scale. What if I’m wiping my ass wrong? Nobody taught me exactly how to do it, and it’s not like anybody is around to notice and say “hey, you know you do it like this?”
I try not to think about my own opinions on big picture stuff as I can spiral fast.
- Comment on How do people like toast and bread rolls, but not bread crust? 4 days ago:
Would a dipping sauce change your mind at all? They stop being the worst part of pizza and start being luxury breadsticks.
- Comment on Good TV Shows gets cancelled prematurely, while Boring TV Shows run on for too long. 5 days ago:
Boring TV shows tend to make money. Daytime TV for pensioners. It’s boring as hell but you’re at work, or streaming content, or on the tiktoks doing virals for dings.
Broadcast TV, where most shows still come from, are not for you. You ever notice just how many procedural cop shows there are?
- Comment on Is Heliobiology a pseudoscience? 5 days ago:
blood is not magnetic
I thought it had iron in it? I mean you’re right about the MRI, I never thought about it until this thread.
- Comment on Can the Internet be an ethnicity? 5 days ago:
I don’t think it’s rational today, but I don’t have anything more than gut feeling to back it up. I do think it will be realistic quite soon though. It’s not hard to imagine a world even more digital than today.
- Comment on ShowerThoughts will never successfully censor my opinions 5 days ago:
Honestly are you OK?

As is p*sting and h*****f and aj.
- Comment on Is it normal for people to ask where you are from online? 5 days ago:
Yeah, there are good reasons to want to know where someone’s from, but pushing the issue for no reason with a near stranger is kind of weird.
- Comment on I wonder if antivax kids are OK getting a cootie shot? 6 days ago:
The amount of people who suddenly became experts during the pandemic and lecturing me with a bunch of contradictory stuff. Everyone saying something different, but everyone sure that they’re right and everyone else is idiots.
Calling me a sheep for believing the vaccine will work when I don’t understand it. I tell them I don’t understand how any of my other medicines work but they’re saving my life regular. I don’t understand how audio digitalisation works but I’m happy enough talking on the phone.

- Comment on Kids nowadays don't have many (if any) videogame heroes... 1 week ago:
I agree it’s bleak, but it’s just different. They have youtubers to rally behind. They’ll be fine.
- Comment on Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracy 1 week ago:
It only takes one, and they’re not going to admit to their mum that they tried taking it apart or installing some dodgy stuff on it. Once word gets out they can be “randomly” bricked they’ll stop selling so well.
There’s also the risk that it’ll actually get randomly triggered.
- Comment on How does Netflix, HBO and other services get their subtitles? Are they now using AI to help translate? 1 week ago:
Subtitles on dubbed stuff is weird. The English voice over and the English subtitles are very different from eachother, and I assume what they’re translating from is a 3rd different thing altogether.
- Comment on How do children address a non-binary parent? 1 week ago:

- Comment on Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracy 1 week ago:
As part of a severe response to unauthorised use
- Comment on Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracy 1 week ago:
They won’t give the first shit about piracy policies or anything like that, but they’ll care that MummyD123s DH bought their DD an electric brick that won’t keep them quiet any more.
- Comment on Nintendo reserves the right to brick your console following "unauthorised use", in bid to prevent piracy 1 week ago:
The target audience still goes online. Generally Facebook and mumsnet. Wait til it happens to one of them and the stories go round like wildfire.
With that market, especially at big luxury prices like a console, you exist solely on good faith.

It’s not the laziness so much, it’s the KKK right at the start
- Comment on The wonderful Revenge of the Savage Planet has been released! 1 week ago:
I’m playing through it now but I’m not enjoying it as much as the first one. I’m not sure if it’s my fault for not being able to give it the time and attention it requires.
You need the next piece of equipment, so you go to where the robot says it is. “Oh no we need a different piece of equipment to get there first. I’ve marked it on your map”. Cool ok. “Looks like to get that piece of equipment we need to craft this new piece first”. OK. “Looks like we need a special material so let’s go-”
At a certain point you forget what you wanted to do in the first place and just start following the next marker.
I love the world and the wackiness of it all, but I’m not enjoying the actual gameplay loop nearly as much as I did the first one.
- Comment on Will all these multiplayer games being released without support for LAN or hosting our own servers no longer be multiplayer when the company shuts down the servers? 1 week ago:
Legend has it the original Worms was similar. The DRM was a notepad readme that basically said “share me with your friends but buy a copy if you really like it please”
