I am building Voyager, a client for lemmy!

To be completely honest, if you want a healthy 3rd party app ecosystem, the official UI and backend need to be completely separated with a publicly documented API.
Biggest win with Lemmy, and biggest fluff with kbin. And it shows when it comes to 3rd party app ecosystem. People wanted to build apps for kbin….

The labeling is heavily regulated, it must contain a certain amount of actual cream too. Unfortunately shit tier “frozen desert” can be sold on the same shelf intermingled with the good stuff.
And the marketing doesn’t help either.
But it is very easy to check for the initiated bc it wont be labeled as ice cream. And easy to check ingredient list too. When I buy ice cream, I only buy when the first ingredient is actual cream.

In my neck of the woods a couple weeks ago five people burned to death in a Tesla. Apparently called 911 from inside the car too. No national news on this either.

Hey! Through DM, about a week ago. I’ll copy below (it’s nothing sensitive):
Everything seems pretty great, with the only friction I’m working through is regarding user uploads.
It looks like when using 3rd party clients (like Photon or Voyager’s PWA) and I try to upload an image that is too large to lemm.ee, lemm.ee is not properly setting the CORS header. This means that Photon/Voyager can’t see that lemm.ee is rejecting the upload due to image size. It seems to be working on lemmy.world.
(Please note that Voyager automatically compresses images to fit within 1MB, so it may be best to test with Photon - the same problem can be observed and replicated there.)
lemmy.world:
lemm.ee:
If you have time to take a look, I’d appreciate it! No rush at all.
- Comment on Gabby Thomas 3 months ago:
Are you uploading an image over 500kB?
- Comment on Gabby Thomas 3 months ago:
The issue is lemm.ee disables image uploads until accounts are four weeks old.
- Comment on Gabby Thomas 3 months ago:
From lemm.ee sidebar,
Image uploads are enabled 4 weeks after account creation
I contacted your admin (@sunaurus@lemm.ee) about an issue where the response to the image upload doesn’t have the proper CORS headers, which prevents Voyager from reading the response. Hopefully that gets resolved at some point so we can get more helpful error messages :)

60 days notice is standard on Mastodon, it would be nice to see instances commit to that.

Yep that makes sense. I am more thinking about VFR flight in the context of ultralights. So let me rephrase- in the context of ultralights (VFR) the vast majority of US airspace does not require talking to ATC or even having a radio onboard.
- Comment on Eat it 4 months ago:
I’m an unlicensed ultralight pilot and I know where I can and cannot fly. Every ultralight pilot I know also knows where to fly (and how to read a sectional).

To me at least the speed isn’t a problem. I’d much rather take a 2 day Amtrak (in sleeper) than an 8 hour plane.
The problem is the pricing, and also how much it fluctuates due to the extremely low capacity (one train a day…)
