Is this the same founder of brew dog whose female staff are told never to be in a room alone with him? Or is that the other one?

I think it’s the same guy, yeah.

Oh look someone else who can fuck right off.
HK65@sopuli.xyz 1 year ago
This the same BrewDog that the term brewdogging was coined for, meaning getting interviewees to solve actual problems in the company, thereby stealing free work from people looking for jobs?
Yeah, fuckem

Keep on pushing back or you’ll end up like us across the pond.

Spoons and BD have been on my “do not drink at” list for a while.
This underlines the BD one for me.hellfire103@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
Wait, what’s wrong with spoons, besides the obvious?
blackn1ght@feddit.uk 1 year ago
I think they might be referring to the owners politics, specifically his very strong Leave campaign during the EU referendum. Could be wrong though.

I totally agree, I think to encourage enthusiasm for work he should make all his employees equal shareholders with a stake in the business so all can benefit and run brewdog as a worker owned co-op, but something makes me think he won’t.

He should try to open a factory with us in France.
JohnSmith@feddit.uk 1 year ago
I think this is a great idea! Perhaps he could move his whole company, its beers and himself in the process.

Going to the country where they have a tradition of shortening people who get too tall for their own good. I like that
SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
What a fucking knob
Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I hope he’s right. I prefer to be among people who are obsessed with work life balance.
floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
How dare people want to balance his quality of life with their own!

Yet another Booo dog. Much better breweries from traditional to the likes of Northern Monk.
casmael@lemm.ee 1 year ago
Oh look it’s another mad psycho at the top of a company who would have fucking thought it I’ve definitely never seen that before Wowee so strange and unusual. Band companies, ban money, put people like this out in pieces on tower bridge that’s my advice.

Not defending the guy, he seems an ass but he is also seemingly not that involved with the company anymore.
Watt stepped down from BrewDog’s daily operations last year after 17 years but retains his ownership stake and holds the title of “captain and co-founder” in a non-executive role.
The company apologised and promised to learn from the situation, though they later faced backlash for reversing a pledge to pay real living wages.
So maybe rather lookup what he currently does and boycott that if you can.
zerakith@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
If he retains an ownership stake doesn’t that mean he still takes home the profit of Brewdog so boycotting would still be effective/desirable?
j4yt33@feddit.org 1 year ago
I’d think so
wewbull@feddit.uk 1 year ago
Only in the form of dividends, if brewdog pays them.
j4yt33@feddit.org 1 year ago
The one brewdog pub we have here is overpriced and not very nice, now I have one less reason to go there
rayquetzalcoatl@feddit.uk 1 year ago
Jobsworth in a flatcap, fuck off with your poncy beers, absolute wanker
doleo@lemmy.one [bot] 1 year ago
Move beyond that obsession, towards what, exactly? Besides, it’s not as if this apparent laziness has stopped you getting stinking rich.
mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
People like this might not understand anything besides violence.
harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 year ago
I think it’s pretty obvious. The moment you start treating people as resources, putting policy over people, you’ve declared that you have little to no empathy and place little value on human life, aside from your own.
Diddlydee@feddit.uk 1 year ago
He’s a known cunt. How opinion means nothing.
Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 1 year ago
Oh no, less people are working themselves into the ground which limits the need for the momentary escape that alcohol can brings and affects the sales of my pretentious beer. Boo-fucking-hoo.
floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
Don’t buy BrewDog beer. Got it.
blackn1ght@feddit.uk 1 year ago
This guy’s notorious for being a weapons grade prick. Absolutely not surprising he’s saying stuff like this.
Khrux@ttrpg.network 1 year ago
I’ve been told by literal Brewdog barstaff that if they know he’s coming, they need to encourage their female staff to either dress moderately or not come in, to minimise his sexual harassment.
I don’t know how true that is, but the city I’m based in, which is pretty happy to boycott assholes is filled with people who boycott Brewdog.
Mex@feddit.uk 1 year ago
Such a “punk” company and guy eh?
Daeraxa@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
I bought a gin on offer the other day only to get it home and discover it was a brewdog sub brand… I felt tricked
