So they recoup the fine from customers and carry on as before?
Fuck, just nationalise it already.

She is Diane Morgan playing Philomena Cunk in a series of “mockumentaries”, where her ignorance of the subject leads to her accidentally dropping insightful truth bombs.
- Comment on What is the government trying to hide about British American Tobacco? 1 week ago:
I imagine a lot of Conservative MPs have jobs or consultancies in the tobacco industry, or have friends with them. These are Tories we are taking about.
- Comment on Is it weird to sometimes wonder wether everything you know is wrong? 2 weeks ago:
It’s good to be unsure. The worst people are the ones who think they know everything. The only universal absolutes should be respect and love for others. Other than that, keep thinking and enquiring and learning.

Is that you, Bob?
- Comment on [Opinion] Unending ransomware attacks are a symptom, not the sickness 3 weeks ago:
Is it still legal to pay the ransom? That seems pretty stupid to me. Aside from anything else, you are financing organised crime. It shouldn’t be allowed.

Or a MacAnal. Which is anal, but faster.

It’s not a crime if it’s just a cyclist. I’m sure they weren’t wearing enough high Viz or something.
- Comment on Tesla Board Opened Search for a CEO to Succeed Elon Musk 4 weeks ago:
How about a potato? On the minus side, it doesn’t do anything, but it has the advantage of not being an utter piece of shit that does nazi salutes.

Likewise.
- Comment on Right-wing media generating hysteria over trans women running non-competitively in London Marathon 5 weeks ago:
“In 2023, trans woman Glenique Frank, who ran the race to raise money for good causes, was accused of “cheating real women out of a place” after she finished the 26.2-mile event in 4hrs 11mins 28secs – in 6,160th spot.”
The person in 6,161st place must have been gutted they didn’t get 6,160th.
- Comment on How do some communities get like 50 members minutes after its creation? 5 weeks ago:
It’s not necessarily pro homophobia. If it is, people might join in order to report hateful content when it appears.
- Comment on How do some communities get like 50 members minutes after its creation? 5 weeks ago:
New communities show up on the front page of the web site, so there is instant exposure as soon as it is created. I set up a community about seagulls, and it’s got 147 subscribers, despite only having about 6 posts. Lemmy is still small though that you can be a big fish in a little pond.
- Comment on I made a killer wort :( 1 month ago:
Silly question, but you did actually include malts which produce sugars that can ferment? I brew by the seat of my pants quite a lot, but I always take an OG reading.

- Comment on Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk would like to ‘delete all IP law’ | TechCrunch 1 month ago:
No it doesn’t. The GPL provides a license to copy it as long as certain conditions are met. Availability has nothing to do with it.
- Comment on Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk would like to ‘delete all IP law’ | TechCrunch 1 month ago:
The GPL relies on copyright law to keep software free.
- Comment on Tax cut for Musk, Bezos and other tech billionaires on the table, Starmer confirms 1 month ago:
That’s good. They could do with a bit more money. If we had it we’d just spend it on food or some such recklessness.

- Comment on Brewing with "High Voltage" yeast 1 month ago:
This one started off at 1.054 and ended at about 1.008. It’s almost certainly a strain of kveik. I’ve used it before and it gives a very clean flavour.

I can answer this without watching the video: it’ll work for a certain amount of time before it doesn’t, and then your engine explodes.
