A Jesus is never to late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

All your saying is, it looks better. I am not using any Lemmy webfrontend, I’ve always been using the apps that are available, many of which are absolutely polished.

Sounds like a transcoding issue which AFAIK can depend on the machine you try to play this with. Doesn’t really solve your problem other than next time get something that’d better at playing more video formats, which is a hilarious and silly problem to have these days.

- Comment on Parents turn to smartwatches for their children amid global phone screen-time pushback 2 weeks ago:
If you restrict the crap out of the phones so there is not much interesting to do for kids, it will have similar effects. E.g. they complain about YouTube on their kids phones, block it. Complain about games, don’t let them install them.
- Comment on Parents turn to smartwatches for their children amid global phone screen-time pushback 2 weeks ago:
Children’s smartwatches are a stripped-down version of a typical smartwatch, and they allow parents to restrict app downloads, usage and calls from an approved list of contacts.
All of that you can do with a phone too. I do admit thought the argument of not losing it as easily since its on your arm makes sense.
- Comment on You should know there's a font designed to make reading easier, especially for people with low vision. It's called Atkinson Hyperlegible Next. It's free for personal and commercial use. 2 weeks ago:
It’s actually on their page, so I didn’t try to call out OP on that (and not saying you implied that, just to be sure) but am actually curious if that means something specific.

You wonder? What else is going to happen, it now stays the same forever? Just a question of when.

This is probably a stupid question. If it is free for personal and all commercial use… which case isn’t covered by that? Could just say it is free to use.
- Comment on Why I recommend against Bluesky. 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, that is me too. I tried Mastodon for a bit and it just didn’t work for me. Posting something just drowns you out until you actually have a decent amount of followers, however many that may need to be.
If I post with a new account, 99% of it goes into the void. I had a few people like and boost my posts but they were still gone into oblivion within an hour or less. Not sure how that is appealing? It is like a popularity contest. Like those cliques in schools of the popular kids.

I don’t know the situation in all of the countries, but the ones I know that allow you to make a copy of what you purchased also require that in making a copy you are not allowed to break any DRM. I don’t think there are many media being sold that do not include some kind of DRM these days.

There are so many high quality rips out there. Bothering to tip these yourself makes not much sense, unless its very obscure stuff.
