You’re a silly person, aren’t ya.
Yeah fuck me for acknowledging AR glasses or other AR tech could be very useful but it’s being limited by our privacy concerns that are basically theater at this point.
Truly I am so cowardly Mr big internet man.

I’m just being realistic about the future. You already are carrying around a machine that’s listening and watching. You’re walking into and out of stores where you’re on camera. Hell you’re driving past however many cameras in your car or walking past them on the street, every business, every office, every space has cameras now.
Thus, I think eventually more and more augmented reality devices will be seen because people will come to appreciate their uses outside of just being recording devices once that concern is overcome. In other words, wearing AR glasses won’t get you default labeled as some perverted weirdo.
You don’t need to bend over and spread but we’re past the point where there should be any expectation of privacy in public spaces. I’m not saying I like it, I’m saying I expect our society to continue to move towards a surveillance model where privacy simply cannot be expected in any public space.
Do I think it’s dystopian and bad, yes, yes I do. I also think we need strong privacy protections for our private domiciles. That doesn’t mean my opinion is aligned with what actually is going to happen in our world.
I don’t want it but it’s what is going to happen and has been happening.

The truth is that we already are living in the surveillance state and people are just going to have to “get over” being recorded in public by anyone that walks by.
I don’t like it either. But that’s the reality we’re entering into, where privacy isn’t a right but a privilege and that privilege does not exist save for some very select (if any at this point) places like your home … Maybe.

I like to throw stuff like this into Google Translate just to see what it thinks and it told me that’s “Sichuan Spicy Chicken” which seems like an actual good translation!
- Comment on The bushes were people 🤯 2 weeks ago:
I thought the exact same thing! I expected at one point, with all the excellent choreography happening, that the bushes were for sure going to get involved in the dancing.
I don’t speak Spanish so I didn’t understand what bad bunny was singing but that show was still awesome to watch. The people hating on it must be such losers in real life.

There’s a lot of ships from what I’ve seen so far. Like 10, at least I’m pretty sure. On my phone right now not looking at it but there are lots of unlockables and multiple play styles are viable.
- Comment on Games Workshop had a Warhammer FTL clone pulled from Steam over some overly Space Marine-esque shoulderpads 2 weeks ago:
And Void War? Has not been subtle about their influences. I hear it is a really solid FTL though.
You heard right, it really is a solid FTL-type game. The 40k influence is heavy but it is its own thing by enough of a margin that I’d say they’re different.
If you like FTL you should play Void War. The game mechanics are definitely FTL heavy but there’s plenty of its own thing in there and the atmosphere is dripping in layer of grim dark goodness. The music is nice.

Hmm it’s hidden for me, could be the app you’re using or maybe the app I’m using idk… I’m using the app called Sync.
Don’t think I can do anything to fix it 🤷🏻♂️

That book was a great read. I really enjoyed it, the themes of capitalist consumerism and greed were neatly wrapped up in the madness of cannibalism.
The ending where >!the guy ends up killing the woman that became too human in his eyes!< was a great twist. Would definitely recommend that book to anyone who enjoys reading.

I’ve been speaking English daily for at least 15 years and I still have no idea what’s correct, just what “feels right”.
That’s literally everyone that speaks English. Including those of us for whom English is their native tongue. <- For example, I think I worded that correctly but I’m still not sure and I’ve spoken English for over 30 years now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Literally all the ordering for stores uses the internet now; we’d be absolutely fucked for a good while if the internet actually went down in the USA.

- Comment on Hacktivist deletes white supremacist websites live on stage during hacker conference 1 month ago:
Yeah … I know someone else already said this but you’re absolutely not a Libertarian. So, good news, you can throw that box out and realign your language.
Also, I get that it’s a talking point but I think everyone believes in a fiscally responsible government. It’s just some weird right wing double think trick people say to imply the other side does not want that when in reality the Dems (if we’re framing this through an American lens) want fiscal responsibility just as much as any other party or persons.

Learning some chemistry basics is probably still good though. Not that we’re using it daily but just in the “hey mixing this stuff can kill you” or, in the same vein, seeing how it only requires small amounts to make big changes.
We’re surrounded by chemicals in our everyday lives, learning a healthy fear of them is probably for the best.
Also high school is meant to prepare you for further education, if you want to pursue that, so it really does cover a lot of ground for basic concepts you need to learn to understand and gain further education in whatever field applies.

They do, just some people don’t care and are happy enough to deal with that and get the high off it. I’m not sure it’s a good high but y’know I guess whatever.
I feel like you can get better highs for cheaper, I don’t really know why people choose to inhale that shit but they do.
If you want to get high off of a gas I’d say it’s way way waaaaaY safer to just inhale nitrous oxide (whippits), It won’t be the same high but it’s probably better overall, can’t say I’ve ever huffed canned air though so can’t do a true comparison.
Just the stuff in canned air is so much worse for your body and brain.

You’re right it was crazy to read. It’s wild what people will do, I was actually impressed by the other case they cited that was similar where a guy got concrete poured in and it cured. They were able to give him relaxers and get the concrete out without surgery. Too bad the glue stuck to the inner walls and couldn’t get taken out without surgery. What an absolutely wild thing to put up your ass though - like I’m not here to shame anyone but just put stuff up there that’s not gonna fucking kill you.

Bro seriously seriously growing up all I heard was how you can’t trust the internet and the 12 year old girl you’re talking to might actually be a 300lb middle aged man.
Then, boom Facebook comes along and now apparently their whole generation forgot people lie on the internet and have no sense of media literacy. It’s insane the stuff people will believe.
- Comment on U.S. consumers are so fucked up, that they put more than $1 billion on buy-now, pay later services during Cyber Monday 2 months ago:
No debtors prison but there is a credit score. And that shit is the gateway to paying less for everything when you’re borrowing money. Especially for a mortgage on a house so you actually have equity in the property you’re living in.
Wrecking your credit score basically gate keeps you from a lot of stuff sadly.
I mean, I know you said /s but just saying fucking up your credit can screw you hard in the hyper capitalist hellscape we live in.

I know you’re making a joke just for the record.
But, seriously, you can get some really good Mexican food in Ohio, at least in and around Cincinnati. It goes all the way from authentic abuela selling tamales from a cooler to some texmex deliciousness (shout out to Gomez), then of course the all time classic taco bell.
Also shout-out to tortilleria Garcia, great food.
