- Comment on U.S. consumers are so fucked up, that they put more than $1 billion on buy-now, pay later services during Cyber Monday 15 hours ago:
No debtors prison but there is a credit score. And that shit is the gateway to paying less for everything when you’re borrowing money. Especially for a mortgage on a house so you actually have equity in the property you’re living in.
Wrecking your credit score basically gate keeps you from a lot of stuff sadly.
I mean, I know you said /s but just saying fucking up your credit can screw you hard in the hyper capitalist hellscape we live in.
- Comment on Expecting a LLM to become conscious, is like expecting a painting to become alive 5 days ago:
If you haven’t watched it yet you’d probably enjoy Westworld - it plays a lot with that space and approaches some very interesting philosophy when it comes to human consciousness and what it means to even be a person.

Hmm everyone in here seeing different things, I like it.
Personally, I saw a dragoon. (I need more pylons)

What the actual fuck is going on in this late stage capitalist hellscape?
This is supposed to be a hilarious Adult Swim infomercial not real.

Oh I mean taco bell is trash I just am saying you can go from super authentic to “Mexican” food all within walking distance of one another.
- Comment on What’s wrong, babe? You barely touched your Spaghetacos 1 month ago:
I know you’re making a joke just for the record.
But, seriously, you can get some really good Mexican food in Ohio, at least in and around Cincinnati. It goes all the way from authentic abuela selling tamales from a cooler to some texmex deliciousness (shout out to Gomez), then of course the all time classic taco bell.
Also shout-out to tortilleria Garcia, great food.

I don’t know if you’re a woman or not but I will tell you that random ass picture in the thread is annoying as fuck.
- Comment on Great games you would recommend from before 1990? 1 month ago:
Had a SEGA, the batman videogame fucking ruled, probably still does. I can picture that game so vividly. Still remember celebrating with my brother when he beat it 🙂
So yeah, seconding your recommendation for sure.

Gonna have to check out that gun master mode, hopefully it’s in BF6
- Comment on soda 1 month ago:
Incidentally, the soda (gas-injected water plus syrup) is so cheap this [a real boy really named Peyton coming in and filling his bin for the fill-your-own-cup-special] would be better indulged and tolerated as a photo op and free advertising
What do you think this is?
- Comment on I wonder what game they're trying to play 2 months ago:
My initial Google search with Gemini says neither Sony nor their subsidiaries produce adult novelty vibrators.
However, I would be willing to bet money the same vibrating motors in their controllers are in a vibrator somewhere without knowing more details about how that tech is sourced. I could be wrong but I like to think somewhere someone is using the same vibrator to rub one out as the one in a PS5 controller.

Wait, actually, I think the person has fishnet stockings on, I didn’t zoom close enough to see the first time.
Oh snap

See I thought it should have some sort of dress under to cover up the person’s legs completely.
Either way would work well though!
- Comment on AI experts return from China stunned: The U.S. grid is so weak, the race may already be over 3 months ago:
I didn’t say they were going to save the world, no more than the USA did or any nation state turned empire.
I do think China will eclipse America when it comes to being in a position of strong global leadership and the hegemonic power on the world stage. The USA seems to be shirking our duties, reshaping and destroying our society’s moral fabric, racing towards worse and worse education results and hellbent on making sure our healthcare is broken and our people are fat and dumb.
It’s not a winning recipe, even with a military that can dominate.
Every country has its problems and its demons, China is no different and certainly their problems are complex and grand. As far as greater or lesser evils - I’d put the USA and China about on par for all the fucked up stuff we have done the past hundred years and keep doing now.
I’d love to at least visit China sometime - honestly there’s so much fascinating history and getting to see a different approach to community building and infrastructure planning would be neat.

Sounds like it might be time for a rewatch! I probably should rewatch it too…
But that’s a fun episode. The episode’s plot is basically Alien if the alien was a sentient spoiled food item.
Enjoy this Fun mva from 17 years ago …feeling old yet?
- Comment on BE NOT AFRAID, MORTAL 3 months ago:
Yeah it’s cowboy bebop. It’s from the episode where they have a monster that was leftovers in the fridge roaming the ship and terrorizing then.

- Comment on AI experts return from China stunned: The U.S. grid is so weak, the race may already be over 3 months ago:
This is the dawn of the new Chinese century. I have no doubt in 20 more years China will be in an even stronger position as the USA continues to decline.
We, the USA, could do all the stuff that would make us competitive. That would require more socialism, more taxing of billionaires, more spending in green energy, education, transportation, healthcare becoming affordable and an actual human right for all in our borders, a real plan to transition off fossil fuels and shore up our domestic energy production and electric grid.
Idk more than that of course but that’s the elevator pitch.
We won’t do it though because corrupt capitalism and the oligarchy.
Maybe we will if at some point enough of us are struggling but we’re pretty fat and have plenty of entertainment to distract us even if we are being fucked. So … Yeah … Desperately hoping I’m wrong about most of my predictions, devastated as I keep seeing them come true.
- Comment on Microsoft Is Now Being Sued Over Sunsetting Windows 10 3 months ago:
Having gone from 10 to 11 - it’s pretty much windows 10, at least to an average user like myself … I’m tech savvy enough for Linux but I prefer windows for gaming.
Have to say so far I’m pretty happy with windows 11 but I’m just a random guy who uses it to play video games and that’s about it on that PC so if you’re doing anything crazy under the hood I’m sure there’s some noticeable differences.

I think that’s really up to interpretation. Her age seems to fluctuate in historical texts from her time.
She easily could have been younger than 18.
People didn’t really have any age of consent laws or any of that and her birth year can only be roughly estimated. So I’d say pick another princess lol
- Comment on ICE agents pointed guns at a US citizen when she walked out on to her yard to ask why they were arresting her (legal immigrant) partner. 3 months ago:
The left is armed. Lots of us own firearms; we’re just quiet about it because we don’t make guns our whole identity because we’re not fragile man children.
Trust me, right now there is not an appetite for violence. If things keep getting worse sooner or later we will hear more about ICE getting killed. Probably in a year or less since they’re expanding the American Gestapo.
- Comment on ICE agents pointed guns at a US citizen when she walked out on to her yard to ask why they were arresting her (legal immigrant) partner. 3 months ago:
That’s just not how the economy works.
The people that immigrate work. They have labor value. They’re consumers too, they’re literally just people like you and me - and zooming out to macro economics that’s all we are. The human widgets in the machine.
Trying to blame immigrants for the ills of society is a fool’s errand.
Maybe instead of pumping up shareholder value in stocks, most of which are not owned or shared by the actual labor, there could be an increase of wages and benefits through taxation. Hell stocks could be given to the people who are making that revenue for the company and not to just like the pockets of the investor class who are literally making money by simply having it.
I don’t think people prefer to be exploited for their labor but when the USD goes farther than your local currency and you’re already in bad enough straights it is worth the hardship for those folks.
Also all of this is ignoring one very obvious fact. IT IS ILLEGAL TO HIRE UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANT WORKERS. Maybe … just maybe if the companies and farm owners followed the law they claim to care so much about the demand and the benefit of “illegal” immigration would cease to exist.

I’m low-key disappointed and appalled by these community members who believe these women “deserve” it for … Trying to help each other be safer?

I mean I don’t think 25 women would lie about stuff that would be slander or libel when it comes to someone as litigious and thin skinned as Trump.
Not much evidence you can provide when it’s one person’s word over another. Only thing I can say is he never won a libel suit against his accusers as far as I know.

I will say I’ve found LLM useful for code writing but I’m not coding anything real at work. Just bullshit like SQL queries or Excel macro scripts or Power Automate crap.
It still fucks up but if you can read code and have a feel for it you can walk it where it needs to be (and see where it screwed up)
